first off...great read hip, sounds like you've lived one heck of a life, my questions are pretty lame in comparison... 1. Have you ever smoked ciggarettes? if yes, for roughly how long, what brand. 2. earlier in the thread (around the '04 mark) you said you don't grow shrooms anymore, has this changed? 3. do you still take shrooms on a regular / semi-regular basis?

if you could ingest any substances regularly what would (it) they be and how often would you ingest them ? if you could change two things about yourself what would you change ? what are your five favorite things about yourself ?

Hippie- After reading this thread, and your physical description, I have decided that you look just like your avatar...in my head at least. You definitely have a psychedelic santa thing going on...bringing us gifts of knowledge and just asking us to be more nice than naughty. Thanks for the forum!

Too bad of the nature of the site, because it would be cool to have a palaver with you Hippie! Some awsome stories and some great reading!

recently i've been reading up on basic homesteading skills- baking bread, building fences, raising chickens, building traps, organic gardening, that kind of thing. over the years i've read extensively on many subjects, i like history, space science, economics, sociology, psychology, etc. anything really that has to do with the human experience on earth. rarely read non-fiction any more but as a youth i enjoyed sci-fi and a good murder mystery novel.

what do you think of Dr. Timothy Leary's methods for use of psychedelics? specifically in comparison to Ken Kesey and Dr. Albert Hofman's. Is there a best way to use psychedelics properly in your opinion, and if so, what is it?

This is a good question to ask you I think. Hip, what do you feel the benefit is to taking ayahuasca, shrooms, cactus, etc. This is without any guides or shaman, just the medicine itself. I find a certain amount of help spiritually. Physically the anti depressant qualities of the brew are well documented, but other than that I mean, there is something about the magic allowing us to connect somehow. I tend to think its all about the love we feel, the laughing is also important i think.

the love and laughter are indeed good therapy. Quote:
there is no benefit that is universal. it's not like medicine where you know exactly what the effects will be. a trip might be beneficial, but it might not be either. a lot of it boils down to what you make of it, how you interpret and apply your visionary experience. i think for me the best part is the feeling of being connected to all, to be able to see myself with some detachment in perspective, to feel fully alive in every fiber of my body. but sometimes i just giggle until tears run down my cheeks, laughing at the tv commercials or the absurdity of life in general. it's all good.

by my age one learns that there are no 'true friends' in the idealistic sense we believed way back when. it gets to where you just hope that your 'friends' don't steal from you or fuck your wife, etc. but if i had to pick an endearing quality i'd cite generosity as number 1. generous with their time and their possessions- that's real.

If you could offer a word of advice regarding relationships with a girl friend, wife, etc.. What would you say is one thing you have learned through your life experience that you perhaps wish you had known when you were younger?

always wanted to see vegas ? go. always wanted a horse ? get one. make the moves needed to take you where you like, might take some time but a trip starts with the very first step. take it. and never regret the past- regret is the only way to lose the game.

This may be a stupid question. However I am not on the forum enough to know everyone's history. I was reading on ST (the first place I learned from) and I was copying teks for offline reading. I seen that a member named striker (old friend of sorts) posted the MonterMitch Bulk Bag Tek. In this tek there is a post from another member saying that hippi3 was mm. (Right b4 he called you an asshole) So I was wondering if the two people are the same?! Hip = mm? I was curious because when I first got into mycology, MM was sorta my mentor. I'm sorry if I offend you in anyway by asking this question. Another question, if there was a mushroom strain (in the cubensis) that you particularly favor?

I thought the question was a lil stupid. But it would be dumber had I not asked. ![]() I will have more intelligent questions for you. And when I ask I'll be sure to pull this thread back up. WONDERFUL THREAD, btw. Thanks for being here for us Hippie3.

3, much respect, bro! You seem unmoving yet forgiving all at the same time. Is there anything, other than the obvious (murder, rape, yadayada) that a good friend could do to you that you could never forgive?

bucket loads of respect hippie for posting open and honest details of your life, it's like medicine for me (although some of it tastes like buckly's - the parts that mirror my checkerd past) my family (5 brothers, 2 sisters) grew up dirt poor with a single mom that had an affinity for wooden spoons and dirtbag men (the spoons were always breaking for some reason) ...many other similarities that i would love to chat with you about someday if the chance ever comes up ![]() dude, hippie - simple question for ya ...what's your fav whiskey / scotch / rye / bourbon (pick a few if ya like ...can't limit it to just one ) little bit more introspective and serious - shovel, pan, or knuckle ? |

Hello Hippie thought i would join in. I was wandering if you think about this: Do you feel that if there is something it taking mushrooms that once you have had your first trip and when you come to "soberness" Do you think by eating that mushroom that it in essance has opened up a new way of thinking for the mind? I hope that im not just rambling on sounding stupid.. If you can answer... how old when you first tried herb? What was your first time like?

hmm, think i actually first smoked herb when i was 10 or 11, some teens down the street. don't remember too much of that, first recollection starts about age 15 partying after working nights as busboy. went to a buddy's and we chilled under black light posters and netting hung from ceiling listening to black sabbath and ted nugent. i do think that a psychedelic experience forever changes how we think, i can very nearly create it at will nowadays.
