The strongest trip I've ever had

Back in the early 90's, I forget exactly which year,(imagine that) Me and some friends went to a Dead show in NC. We all had tix. They brought some shrooms, but not enough for all four of us. So I decided to score some acid. I ran into a beautiful hippie girl who said she had the best acid at the show. "Double dipped, very strong" she said. So I buy three, and promptly drop two. After an hour I feel absolutely nothing, so i take the other. A half hour passes, and my one friend asks for the other hit since the shrooms he ate were really weak. I say "uh you can't, cuz I ate it". He freaks out saying "dude they are double dip, man I aint babysitting...blah blah. "nobody babysits me!" I proclaim. He's still pissed, mostly cuz he was banking on that other hit. I smoke a fat bowl, get the munchies, grab a veggie burrito from some people, and take a bite...the hot sauce ignites my mouth and somehow I go into full-on trip mode, crazy visuals, everything. The time to go into the show arrives and as were walking to the coliseum it begins to breathe like a giant lung. "whoa, I cant go in there!" I exclaim "its fuckin breathing!" People around me laugh, my friend gets pissed, and says"youre going in damnit!" "OK" I say. Them as we get in line I can hear murmuring all around, but cant understand what anyone is saying, I decide not to tell my friend this.
Well, we go in, the show starts, and I cant even tell what song they're playing. During "Space" lights start flashing around the stadium and the stage jumps in front of my face, the next instant it's barely visible down a long tunnel. Over and over this happens. My friend says "dude, are you OK?" which somehow I understood. "yeah" was all I could manage. I looked at him and saw that he was really concerned, scared almost, about me. I felt I should say something more, so I said "it's awesome" That alleviated his fears. Funny how on acid you can really look "into" people. Anyhow, the house lights come on, much to my surprise, and people start getting up to leave. "Whats going on?!" I exclaim. "Shows over, man, time to go home." my friend says. "they only played for like 20 minutes", I state. My friend looks at me like I'm nuts. "Besides I'm WAY too high to go home!" I announce. So, thankfully we chill out in the parking lot, hanging out with people, till we all sober up enough to leave.

We didn't know how good we had it back then. It just seemed like the Dead would keep touring forever.

I actually like Mescaline better, much more spiritual trip. I haven't taken acid since back in my touring days.
