![]() ![]() | Cactus: Everclear extraction I purchased some T. Pachanoi from BBB. Several kg of their bulk offering. Most of them were intended for propagation but I couldn't resist "sampling" some based upon the "stress builds character" theory. I processed 2lbs. into tea and consumed it some time ago and nothing happened. I've made tea before using John Allen's tek and know that this works when using healthy, green, robust cactus. Giving the benefit of the doubt - because I've been known to make a mistake or two in my life - I decided to try an everclear extraction. I made one departure from the tek in that I dried and processed the whole cactus rather than just the green outer layer (since I'd already "chunked up" quite a bit for future tea making). Other than that I followed the tek pretty carefully and after using two half-gallon jugs of Everclear and 7lbs of whole cactus, I wound up with 60g of "tar" which I loaded into "00" capsules. I consumed 40g of this "tar" and now six hours later still don't feel a thing. Unless I've made errors twice in a row, which is entirely possible, I feel that the statement "stress builds character" is a myth and one should, therefore, steer clear of stressed cactus specimens except for the express purpose of propagation. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I do not think you could mess up an alcohol extraction. I have heard similar about the "bulk". The non bulk is better.
