I feel I made a discovery on my last trip.

The magic mushroom is more powerful than you think...it really is "magic". In the last 5 days Ive eaten nothing horribly bad, Ive actually taken the time to run, have walked a lot more, written (to me) lots of music, have tried to make certain changes in my daily life, have made marked improvements in my ability to solve basic math in my head at work, have come to understand society and the people in it for what they truly are, have come to understand music for what it truly is, and have come to understand myself 100 per cent completely. What Im about to tell you about music must be truth. I didnt read this on any website, or hear this from anyone. I figured this out from years of trying to write songs and from years of trying to play with other musicians. When you hear a good song, the author has found a way to access some sort of "lucid" streaming part of our brain that can be responsible for more creativity than you have ever imagined. I always knew there was something to that when Id wake up and in that half-asleep half-awake state hear some unmistakeably cool melodies in my head....and when Id wake up Id try to write something, and none of the ideas could please me the same way the dream had. I once had a dream where I turned a radio on and heard incredible guitar playing...in the most amazing intricate way you can imagine, stuff that sounded like Danny Gatton "the TeleMaster". When I woke up, it took me a few seconds before I asked the question "who was that?" Well, the answer is, it wasnt Danny Gatton, it was me. 100% me. You might say, well Frank Zappa didnt use mushrooms and LSD, and Elvis Costello never needed mushrooms or LSD, but I believe this: those guys were probably born with the special ability to tap into a different part of their brain, a part us ordinary folk cant access. And guess what....those people are like one in a million.
It also turns out that this part of the brain can be responsible for creative thinking, which can lead to creative, healthy living. What Im really telling you is that my mind can be capable of anything. I can go beyond where evolution left off; I can become a super-being.

I feel bad for most people who havent waken up and discovered the mushroom. But trying to make people think is useless. That kind of thing can only change society so much, or get you killed. And it is necessary to have non-awake par takers in the cycle of life because as we all know society would fall apart if there werent people to fix my sink and people to check me out at the gas station. If you want to live a healthy life, the mushroom could be absolutely essential to your needs.
As a side note, this also explains why I was always playing along to other peoples music instead of being the 17 year old kid with the good original local band. I was simply trying to fulfill the need for "higher" creative thinking.

Now my question is; what chemical allows me to access this "lucid" section in my head? Is it psylocin? Or is there another easier to obtain, legal chemical that can get me there? So far most descriptions Ive read tend not to dive very deep into the workings of the mushroom.

Oh yeah, that reminds me; the other night I wrote and recorded a song under this spell. What you're about the hear was live streaming out of this "lucid" section of my brain. I could never, ever write this straight. I look forward to many, many more and better songs. Copy and paste the link:

Wow! That was a pleasant surprise. I'm not a music critic or anything like that, but this piece was very easy to listen to, and most notably kept my interest as it progressed through the key changes. Wild stuff...keep it up

Your compliment really meant a lot actually. My roommate said "it just sounds like any other one of your songs that you'll abandon in 3 days" and that kind of hurt me. I know this was written from a higher creative place; I've only been there a few times, but you know when you're in. And, you can learn to handle it. The first few trips I had I'd never be able to do anything productive. Now it's a pursuit of finding more......!!! But really, thanks for the fairly critical review. John

I would have loved to listen to the music on that link but, it redirects you to the homestead homepage. I my experience with the mushroom it was quite relaxing, I was at peace no anxieties, worries even though that is everyday thing for me being bipolar (manic-depressive). It took me off the everyday intense rollercoaster with the thoughts racing and etc.... But, it took me on a smooth sailing trip that helped me in a way which is hard to explain in words. just the experience was so amazing.

Care to elaborate? I've heard this from you and several people and as someone who's never done mushrooms but would like to soon, I'm really interested. Human behavior, society, the relationships that hold us all together, that kind of stuff fascinates me.

anyone who wishes to, please give your perspective on that.

this was a cool post and in my mind, really accurate... i feel the same way.. psilocybin does seem to unlock creativity... for some strange reason, when i am coming down from a really good trip...involving hallucinations and strong euphoria... i can have EXTREMELY well rounded, intellectual conversations... and no i don't mean one with a tree, or a squirrel... i am with you on that one.. i feel bad for the people who are missing out on the rare circumstances which we experience in this earth... we float through the great universe on a planet that harbours the PERFECT circumstances, so that life can grow.. life such as intelligent human beings, and certain strains of fungi that alter our perception of thought... for some in a good way... for some in a bad way.. and for some in a life changing, profound GREEATTTTT way... great thread, i totally agree... although i don't think those people are 1 in a million.. they are just one in a studio with time and the resources... i think anyone could produce ground breaking music if they had the time and resources to do it... !!!!

and i agree with you jordan86 that topic and all that falls under it is really interesting... isn't it?
