5 grams, and dark side of the moon

recently, a friend of mine and i decided we were well established enough in the world of psilocybin to ingest 5 grams... we cleaned a small shed out... put some chairs black lights and my new behringer 300 watt PA system and my ipod... we sat in complete darkness and started the cd, but it played on random... has anyone ever experienced this music before while tripping face? all i know is the music guided my emotions almost completely... i was having serious feelings of euphoria and pretty hard visuals... no real distortion of sound, but the music got me thinking... that is my parents generation of music... will my kids be listening to it? the words are so thoughtful.... the most memorable visual i had was my dad standing up straight and slowly hunching over with time, i watched him evolve into an older man which had me really emotional for a second until i realized i was almost falling in an out of reality... thats the closest i have ever been to dissassociating my mind from the normal life i live... i didn't learn much like i do in most trips, becuase reality never really came to light i realized the complete dark was a canvas for my mind to create things... it was a really cool trip, i saw the completely imaginative side of the substance... there was really no room for logical thought, i could feel sound and see sound... my senses were definately confused for a bti... i suggest that cd to anyone sober or tripping... now i just think it's more peaceful than orginally...

About 14 years ago we used to have a Pink Floyd Laser light show at the Detroit Science Center on Friday and Saturday nights. My wife, a buddy and I all went to it after dosing on some really good white blotter acid. Im telling you the music was so loud but we didnt care, it just took us into another world of light and sound. And yes the things that album says can make you see things differently while tripping. Damn I must be getting old I was 6 when that album came out. My dad used to play it all the time.

thats the reason i was thinking about my dad is because he loves floyd ... i've known about them forever due to him... i watched him listening to this music with his friends in highschool then grow slowly older in a bizar hallucination... almost like the skit where the monkey slowly walks until it's an upright man

thanks for the report. I did this exact thing a while back, in my room though, and put on some selected Floyd I had prepared. It took me to another level.
    Glad to hear your report.

Ohh and if you are referring to Floyd as last generations music, you should check out Sound Tribe Sector 9 if you haven't. Most mind expanding shit I have ever heard. Just saw them last week at the beach and was insane. Will be posting a report of that show as I ate about 2.5 grams right before. Look around for STS9's cd ARTiFact. My first real visuals came from this cd.
Did for me what Floyd couldn't, and I am a HUGE floyd fan. But sts9's lack of lyrics lets me get into the music so much more. I heard things I hadn't heard before in the songs, like I was dissecting them.

Glad you had a blast, the best part is, for me at least, is that they keep getting better.

yeah, the way i was positioned in my chair so so that pinkfloyd was bouncing off the walll and coming into my left ear and i could hear my mind speaking only in my right ear... there was a point where my thoughts were almost sort of holding my head up instead of the muscles in my neck...at least i felt that way... we started off with "us and them"... the beginning of that song had me almost in tears with peace..."me.....and you...." so cool, i'll check out that other group too!

    cool, thanks for sharing!!

We used to listen a lot of Floyd and trip, watch it to.. mostly listen tho....

I to remember my Dad listening to it when I was young.

and... Myself, and my 2 brothers and 2 sisters all listen to it now.
I think... If a child grows up hearing a certain type of music, they cant help but like it when they are grown. (ok, in many cases) lol.. like my One little Brother.. who spent alot of time with his Mom, and she was way into bluegrass and stuff... now he LOVES bluegrass.. but hated to have to hear it as a kid. lol

like... I remember listening to it while my Dad would play it, and I would really like it, but then I remember when I got older, and started listening to it.. I was like.... " Whoahh! this is waht Pops used to listen to?" Pops rocks!! lol

Once they get to a certain age, and can absorb what the music is saying/feeling...
well.. I dunno about everyone else.. but for me.. it gave me a new found respect for my Dad. lol

next time take yer sound system outside and put the chairs out under the stars!!
or just lay on the Earth. lol

I can't speak for his other work but the Animals album really sends me to some exotic locations, Dogs especially. My dose wasn't anywhere near 5 grams but I was out of my head running with a pack of wolves on the moors of Scotland.

    HAHAHA!

The Floyd was so far ahead of their time that we still haven't caught up with them yet.

Our Grandchildren's Grandchildren will be listening to them and loving it.

Pink Floyd is both my oldest and dearest trip companion. It always takes me someplace different, yet the journey never ends. I love the way it makes me melt into oblivion.

they really are "timeless"... that's a great way to describe them and their music... just to think that they probably didn't realize the impact their music would have on people's minds... weird... that music did take me soul to a weird, yet cool place..

I listened to one hell of a lot of Pink Floyd growing up, and still do but to a lesser extent.

They're a bit on the dark side of tripping, so bear that in mind when selecting music to trip with (by 'dark' I don't mean bad or evil, rather it's often focused on themes that I'd personally rather not focus on anymore while tripping).

I saw Dark Side of the Moon done laser-show style in college. I ate enough mushrooms and smoked enough bud dipped in hash oil to experience complete ego loss in the lobby of the planetarium. I was staring into space (well, it was really the gift shop but they have lots of shiny space-stuff in planetarium gift shops), holding a $20 bill in one hand. An infinity later I looked down and was holding a red piece of paper (the ticket) but the $20 was still in my other hand. Someone I didn't recognize at all (who turned out to be my best friend at the time- that's how hard I was tripping!) pushed me on in to see the show and to this day I still have no recollection of how I got that ticket and held on to my money.

Traversing the public areas was a little terrifying in that condition, but the show itself was worth every bit of it and became one of my Top 10 Craziest Trips. Going into detail is probably pointless since we know what it's like when we do stuff like that, but if we don't then there's really only one way to understand and words can't quite handle the job.

Try a big dose in total darkness and total silence sometime. It's a very worthwhile experiment and best done alone since even someone else's breathing can be incredibly distracting.

tvcasualty... i agree with you totally about being in public under that mindset... where everyone is not thinking like i am... i feel the opposite of self confident when tripping... (i'm ugly at that point!) so i try to avoid people who aren't tripping...

and to reply to your statement at the bottom... thats exactly what i did, i took a big dose and sat in complete darkness.. although i was with someone who was tripping the music was too loud to hear anyone else doing anything...

They used to have a Floyd Laser show the 3rd Thursday of every month at the planetarium here!!

Oh my what a fun time!! They stopped doing it though because too many kids were tripping balls and making a scene.

    What a time though.

I learned about pink floyd at age 7, from my step-dad. He was a big pink floyd fan. He had thier box set, some dvds, and loads of t-shirts. Lol picture a 250 lbs. 5'7 guy wearing a pink pink floyd shirt lol. So, now everytime i hear any pink floyd i almost cry cause i miss him. Dark side of the moon, is by far the best album ever made(period)
