Greetings friends!

A little tale of psychedelia from this weekend...

I found myself once again, at the abode of Achtwan, a strange and dangerous place, full of fun and freakiness. Some of you who've gotten to know me may remember my ambivalence to mescaline/cactus...this from an ill-advised initial adventure where set and setting were ignored (to the chagrin of everyone present)...

So, I was to attend the festivities and watch my friends blow their minds on mad (Irishlion) doses of Bridgesii, whilst I remained 'safe' in LSD land.

I took a dose of L - a sourpatch kid with ostensibly two liquid doses on it and settled in to greeze...but at about the two hour mark, I was a bit piffed at the lackluster dose and began to eye the jar of cactus tea Achtwan had prepared for me "just in case"...This was a smaller dose than those guys took, around half the amount required for shamanic dismemberment, so I wasn't particularly terrified to try it. It always kills me how many of you guys love mescaline and think I'm nuts for the amount of DMT I imbibe.

Anyway, I got about three hideous gulps down and to my surprise I felt that shit in like ten minutes, I attributed the rapid onset to being 'opened' up by the acid, who knows. It went strait to my hands and feet - I loosened up all over and began to sweat in the palms, I call it glorious. So, emboldened by the washing over of warmth I continued to try to get the rest of it down, I won't tell you how long it took, or that I narfled the garthok in between, but suffice it to say I was VERY impressed. Initially it felt like the best MDMA one could hope for, I likened it to a heavy candyflip, but after a bit of puking, it was right on top of me...I mean to do this (Bridgesii) again for sure. It was so deeply psychedelic - I could close my eyes and be swept away in beautiful visions : melting colors, rivers of glowing mercury and a loose, sweaty body made for a wonderful puddle of me. I am amazed, I wasn't sure how I'd feel about this cactus, knowing how I am about mescaline and the torch tar I've done before, this seemed at once deeper and more malleable than the 'other' mescaline experiences i've had. Man man, that stuff is TITS.

Later on when I was fairly certain I wouldn't need an ambulance or the cops called on me, I thought it prudent to smoke some DMT. Whereupon I did so with a gnarly water pipe I got in Florida. This was well received and the music was perfect (Dead Can Dance - Spiritchaser)

I just wanted to say "Ooooh!!" to you cool people here and a big "Heeeeeey!!" to mighty Bridgesii...I will post as soon as I am capable of taking a lethal dose of that stuff, which I imagine won't be long. Thanks also to Strawberry Cough who's sweet essence destroyed my lungs Saturday and helped blow me up.

I am so glad you had a great time, bridgesii is diffently the "tits" as you have so elegantly put it. Very very close to loph williamsii, if you like bridgesii you will LOVE peyote. Great report man, so when we gonna get a report from your lil bro Achtwan? I do so love the bridgesii cactus.

nice report. i think you're right, the tea was well received because the acid already had you open for it. like most things, sometimes it can be a tough transition initially but then comes the beauty. why don't you guys reduce that tea to a much more concentrated form? it's so much easier to do cacti shots instead of drinking 40oz or so of green nastiness

no thank you sir! i like to reduce to about 4 0z per dose.
still takes me a few gulps to choke down...my stomach is a wimp!

Great band! Great albums. I've yet to listen to Crack the Skye in that type of mindset. Bet it's amazing!

It's on my list for sure! Such a great album anyway... have you read up about the concept of it all? I found it in a local record store on vinyl, very tempted to get it. Looks great.

My pleasure, friend! Really glad to hear you say so!! I'm not a huge fan of their earliest stuff - IMO "Into the Labyrinth" is really when they came into their own - but "Spiritchaser" and (the live one) "Toward the Within" are masterpieces...Lisa Gerrard's voice will lullaby you into oblivion!

I agree - all their releases have been different yet progressive, at the same time keeping their own sound. Truely great artists. haha good call on that, I'll have to save my pennies for a while first though!

i have never had the chance to try cacti. i really want to. sounds liek a beautiful experience. right now im lovin 4acoDmt. that is my stuff. so gentle and beautiful but it packs a psychedelic punch thats for sure. im glad to have found some metal heads on this board. quite awesome. i love the black dahlia murder, after the burial, born of osiris, all shall perish, rose funeral... etc.

I haven't taken any tea on top of L before but I have taken Mesc Tar and Mesc HCl w/ LSD and they mix beautifully. I didn't get the MDMA effect you get but I could definitely feel where the intense thought process of the LSD gave way to the gentle understanding of Mescaline. They are a great combo indeed. I wonder how some LSD, Mescaline and MDMA would all swirl together. I'm thinking it would be a lot of fun!
