![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Old skin Corumba Brazil About a year or so ago at the peak of a Yage ritual, I fell to my knees, threw my head back, stretched my arms out for the stars and cried to the heavens, "Show me my power animal!". Nothing answered but an empty wind. I shut my eyes and cried out again, "Show me my spirit guide!". After 30 mins, not even the wind answered. I dropped my arms and sat back on my haunches. Utterly discouraged, I opened my eyes and cast my gaze to the ground. Movement. My heart stopped as I tried to focus. The object bounced twice more across the floor and stopped, perhaps three feet away, directly in front of me. A softball sized toad returned my stare, motionless and unblinking. I doubled over in peels of laughter and felt the stars join in as I reveled in the celestial humor. Tears streamed down and my sides had begun to ache when I noticed the toad was not amused. Regaining my composure I carefully scooped him up in both hands. I found myself explaining to him how I was expecting a wolf perhaps, maybe even a bear or an eagle. Still he sat expressionless and quiet. The notion that the stars were laughing at me and not with me, soon began to take hold. The idea that this was indeed my spirit guide began to emerge and solidify. I could hear the bear, wolf and eagle laughing their asses off. Waves of doubt and confusion shot through every fiber as I struggled with this. I needed confirmation. I wanted proof. I held the toad up to eye level and demanded this of him. "If you are my spirit guide, show me a sign. Speak to me. Do something so that I know you are the one." The words had barely left my mouth when the toad peed in my hands, soaking me to the elbows. The toad laughed, along with the stars, the bear, the eagle and wolf. I would have laughed too but had begun to feel the urine seeping through my skin and into my veins. It burned a course through my upper arms dissolving the contents of every cell and replacing them with new material. I thought of dropping the toad but was somehow sure that would mean certain death. I whimpered as the electric pee rushed up my neck reaching for my brain. I watched a high yellow tide line engulf my vision and the fluid sweep over my eyes. When it reached the top of my skull I lurched. Fearing for my guide, I set him to the side and lurched again...and again...and again. I was empty but my body didn't believe it and continued to heave. I breathed deep to cut the reflex and shut my eyes. They were everywhere. Thousands upon thousands of toads and frogs. I opened my eyes and scooped up my guide. I placed him under my pancho close to my heart and layed on my side. I returned to the visions and sang with the frogs. I awoke to my wife's smiling eyes and began to wonder when I had nodded off and what the visions had meant. I got to my feet and felt for my guide. I pulled him from under my pacnho and my wife went white and ran screaming. I wanted to explain, but had no idea where to start. On my way to the pond, my guide received several compliments from other voyagers returning from the dream. "Nice frog", mixed with laughter, was the most common of these. I got to the pond, placed him on the banks and thanked him for everything. He said nothing and plopped into the water leaving me with a head full of visions to sort out. To this day, I have not had another Yage or Mushroom ceremony where he didn't make an appearance. I had initially started this post with the intent of relaying a trip report about 'Kambo' a form of Mayoruna hunting magic, but this one has already gotten a bit long winded and if you're not already asleep, you soon would be if I were to continue much further. We'll leave Kambo for another day. Thanks for reading if you made it this far.

I've enjoyed reading your posts so far and look forward to hearing about Kambo and anything else you might like to share. Isn't it great to to know your spirit guide, your strengths? Blessings.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Thanks for the kind words and reps guys. I was initially hesitant to post trip reports but hearing back from people that can relate makes it all worthwhile. Retelling one also seems to help me understand it better myself, if that makes any sense. (("Isn't it great to to know your spirit guide, your strengths?")) Definitely shroom_seeker. I've got frogs all over the place now too. My wife and daughter were the only ones that new about the journey, before posting here, and they've been adding to my collection. Most of them are on or around my fruiting chamber, protecting the little guys. ![]() (("I loved it. Reminded me alittle of Castanedas' writing . How he can make you feel like your there with him. Are you a native of South America?"))I've been down here for about 15 years now Myco. I used to live in the southern US working for a financial institution. Fluorescent lights, copy machines and Corporate America put the zap on my head after awhile. I completely tweaked out, panic attacks, depression, etc. So I bought a map and tossed a dart. It hit South America. I sold everything I owned and bought a good pair of boots. I never got around to going back. ![]() Thanks for the great vibes guys. And seymorebunz, that avatar has me lmao everytime I see it, thanks for that. ![]()

Hey ChinX, i'm about to do the same thing. My area is a disaster. No work, everybody is losing their house in the neighborhood. I'm a few months away from it too. My dart will propably end up in the middle of the pacific. Seymor has the right idea, Hitchhike to the keys with a facemask on.

frogs are very important anchor to the fabric of life. there little feet hold the blanket of life to the skin of the earth. no apex predator would have a chance without the frogs and toads holding it down. nice to know you matter, eh. kind of a foundation block in a sense. sweet report. i could feel my blood starting to turn to pure crystallized toad piss. |

Wonderful report man! You have a gift for communicating these experiences... Powerful story - powerful medicine. I have a friend overseas who just had a session with kambo, until then I had never heard of it. Sounds interesting and I look forward to reading about your experiences with it. Thank you!

Beautiful report ChimX. Great Spirit is a trickster for sure. Glad you rolled with the humor. A toad is a good power animal, it is comfortable in an aquatic environment and a terrestial one. It starts life under the mud and emerges anew and different. This is a good omen that a life which starts out seemingly in a bad place can emerge into the light and the air to begin anew. Thank you for this inspiring report. Peace and Beauty |
