![]() ![]() | What do you 'do' when you trip
Tripped this weekend just gone and found myself and a friend wanting to apply ourselves to something. We didn't know what and had to satisfy the urge by rolling Joints etc. I wondered if I should have prepared something beforehand to play with ... or something. We could have gone outside I suppose, but the weather was not that nice. Do you guys do anything other than listen to music and watch stuff?? |

Great question. I usually end up watching movies/TV or listening to music. I would also like to know what others 'do' whilst tripping.

I've always found that tripping, especially with mushrooms, puts me in a good mind space for playing with my chi, or kundalini. Believing its there is important, and the first step to creating something with your belief is to imagine it initially, then its like shaping something out of smoke. I mean you're bored anyways right, so might as well play with your imagination right?? I've found that the psychedelic gives that extra edge to my imagination that the things I imagine get easier to see, and the whole experience is more fun as long as I'm able to stay away from scary shadows. A simple exercise is to sit in a circle and make energy balls on the ground and pass them back and forth. Don't throw them you don't want to hurt anyone. Another is to try and make an energy column and support yourself with it. Leaning on it is one thing, but can you climb up onto it? These exercises somehow work better if you are with friends, somehow there's like extra chi floating around due to the magic of group dynamics so that if you take turns its like there's more to work with. I think a board game would be fun. I doubt you'll get very far with it, but if you've got something that everyone is familiar with, like maybe dominoes it could turn out to be a good time, nothing too complex of course, like risk or monopoly. Unless you're with a bunch of brainy people. Something like cranium would be a riot I bet, and it would be interesting to see how well the enhanced telepathic abilities of the players come into effect with games like the guess what I'm shaping out of the clay, etc. Painting, is a very bad idea. It's gonna get everywhere, and I hope you don't want your security deposit back, or care about that couch. Or the carpet. Or your clothes. Video games of course are great, especially multi player ones, but that's really taking the easy way out. Your brain is supercharged with psychedelics, put it to use, and making it do the work instead of some electronic doodad is kinda wasteful. Sure sure be a couch potato and watch the wall melt/breathe. Or watch your lil game pieces battle it out. I bet d&d would be a hoot on 3 grams of cubes

Stupid as it is swim likes to go for car rides, not drive. Best trips he ever had were near Christmas looking at all the lights. Other than that swim is usually to out of it to do to much other than flighty little impulsive acts. |

I am usually to fucked up to do anything productive, sometimes I just stand in a completly dark room and listen to my head. I also like to smoke bong after bong, I could smoke 10 of them in a row if I had enough weed.

what do i do while tripping? depends how much and with whom. alone heavy doses, silence and bed. with friends med dose, music (psychedelic trance) weed,tv/pc , walking in nature. last time i had 10g dry and 2 friends (dont tell them i gave them 6g dry..) were sitting in a middle of nowhere in comfortable beach chairs, fire 5m from us, bottle of water and bong. started at 00:00 (collecting wood for fire) ended at 6am. went back home. fell asleep at 8am. i was so far in the matrix, dont need more than gods open arms and my inner self cleaning. im a silent fuck when im tripping.

there are so many fun things to do its hard to pick one! but by far my favorite thing to do is to go camping and trip its a blast watching the earth slip into night while. if its too cold though a nice quiet night at home with a few friends hits the spot. As long as you are prepared for anything you cant go wrong whatever you do

Being outdoors is one of my favorite things to do. The connection to trees, living things, earth, and experiencing the "bigger picture" outside is great. I also love repetitive textures; grass fields, pavement, carpet, brick walls, etc. Great way to make your own "movie" screen if your mind is wide enough. Oh yeah, No big crowds. Just close friends or alone. Good topic! |

music and nature tie for first place in my book. darked out room with a headset and iPod or any outdoor naturre regardless of weather. seems that nature loves the natural chems like mesc and mushies. did trip lightly in an indoor water park, though. aside from the ever-noisy little kids it's a pretty good time. |

W/ mushies it's either go out into the woods for a long hike on the solo or Lights off on the bed just thinking. I can't deal w/ people when I'm mushed. I go into far too deep and strange of tangents..and people just tend to wig me out or ground me too hard. Plus I hate trying to talk to anyone when I am, therefore I just avoid peeps.

Depends on the substance and the dosage. A little of mushies are good for walks, enjoying nature, watching some freaky movies etc. Large doses just throw me on the bed, bend me into fetal position and I can't really do too much. Acid - well if you're able to put your shoes on etc. acid should be great for all kind of activities. Unfortunately it made me unable to make pancakes :P.

I've been thinking about this recently... trying to find something that's perfect to do while tripping. Unfortunately I realised that there isn't one pefect thing, as all situations are different. Some things can be fun sometimes, and not others. I like playing with things, anything really that grabs my attention. UI usually end up forgetting I'm holding it for hours. I once spent about 12 hours playing with a pair of tweezers. It was actually very fun. Sometimes I like watching films, but that sometimes seems like a cop out to me, can be a distraction. Depends on substance and dose, as koldjgdaro rightly said. Nature is usually great, but not always a good idea to be outside. Once I had a session with some great friends and a projector hooked up to a laptop. Visualisations from the music player ended up 113 inches big, projected on the wall. That was cool |

Oh yeah, if you're an artistic person (or not) try drawing or sculpting. I liked to draw with charcoal and sculpt in clay. Trully amazing experience. You may discover new techniques, talents in yourself. The same with playing instruments - the creativity may be like an erupting volcano while on psychedelics.

On little doses I like to be in nature, expecially night time (there is more power), me personally I would never watch tv as I dont like fixating my eyes on something I cant feel. On big doses I like complete silence in the dark where I know I wont be bothered, that way I can plunge inwards and listen real good .

Lately we've been taking pretty heavy doses and generally there are about 3-4 hours where all we (my girl and I) can do is lay on the bed half comatose with conversation when we muster up the ability to speak. I like to watch trippy movies with good animation or off the wall cinematography. I used to be into video games and might still play them while tripping if I bothered to set up my system. Mario 64 was one of my all time favorite games to play on acid for a long time lol. I also like to go for walks under the full moon with my dogs when it's clear out. Pretty much whatever fits the night. If I trip during the day time I make sure Im in the woods and far away from public. I can't stand being cooped up in a house when I day trip. Also chat can be funny as hell when you are tripping and when its really busy that chat screen looks crazy! Oh yeah and the first time I ever saw Goldmember I was on a good sized dose of boomers. I laughed so hard and for so long my stomach muscles were sore for a few days lol. That is one of my favorite trip movies of all time.

i found myself playing with silly putty for about an hour once while dosed pretty decently, it's always nice to have music playing... what i do is, as the day moves (any ordinary day) i have my ipod playing and just take note of certain songs that i believe will compliment a trip, then just let them play in the background, sometimes it can be hard to do any one particular thing while tripping.... wanna talk, listen, interpret, talk, play music, express visions if possible... it's hard to find the perfect thing to do while tripping ime... i have an oral fixation on things when i'm tripping, you might try the same just don't choke on whatever your playing with...

I too prefer to be alone. Usually when I am peaking, I like to watch the bushes vibrate. I also love to watch movies or tv...everything is so much more vibrant. Haven't stayed in the dark or been to a concert yet on them but I will when I see TSO in december. I took some on halloween and after peaking, I played pool and played one of my best games. Actually several games as I ran the table for about 3 hours till I got tired of playing. It was like I had extreme clarity looking at the table. Usually, I'm drunk and can't see straight. |

Winter time is my heavy outdoor trip season. Cold wind, warm fire, the earth and I. Moon driven silhouette offer up plenty of interpretation. Summer trips are day trips but still outside. Nice to marvel at creation in its prime. Almost always with an mp3 player. I tune in out as directed by my visions.

Personally i tend to pay respects and walk around gravesites...especially extra small ones...it calls to me. Its amazing what you feel around you as well. Meditating to music or pathfinding are a couple of other things i do...but you need a guide with pathfinding. |

i live in a big city so camping requires quite a drive. We have a museum, zoo, duck ponds and big park all walking distance from eachother though. The petting zoo is a lotta fun, so is the aquarium. If you have friends trippin with you you cant go wrong with a frisbee, especially the ones with the battery powered light in them, those are frigging great at night! i also got a new toy from the toystore recently, a BIG bubble wand. Bubbles are cool but the wand with the sliding rope that you can make huge bubbles with are insanely cool and a great treasure to bust out on tripping friends. i've posted this before on movies to watch but if i ever get a little too rattled on a heavy dose i pop in "Finding Nemo" and get off on the cool underwater animation , an instant mental chillout movie. i learned that its better to gather all the toys and plan out the "tour" before eating any trips.

yeah that's absolutely true, cousin of mine and I tripped indoors because it was about negative 15 out, nice sized studio apartment never felt so confining... as soon as we stepped outside it was like a whole entire different breach of perspective, temp diff/quality of air/stars/wilderness... just an excellent thing to resort to, we actually went a little insane for a moment, stepping outside pointed the trip in a whole new direction for the better.... i think what captivated was the feeling of breathing in such cold, crisp, fresh air... makes you think differently, as a change in pace is always nice to experience... !

I like to look in the mirror. Lots of fun to be had. If your visuals are nice, it's funny to tilt your head back so you're staring up at the ceiling, and then try to view your reflection in the mirror from that position. It gives you this funny pinched pig-snout face. It is a GAS I'm telling you. Someone please try this, because it cracks me the hell up every time I trip. |

Glowing toys such as flowlights or photons are amusing while dosed up. Here are a few resources I had bookmarked: http://www.raveready.com/led-rave-toys-s/103.htm https://www.flowtoys.com/home.php?cat=7 http://yhst-13210512562222.stores.ya...lowlights.html http://www.firemecca.com/c-82-glow-and-led.aspx http://www.salza.se/category.php?c=10 http://www.thingsthatglow.com/agora....product=Lights http://www.raveworx.com/Wands-Spinners-c-315.html I'm sure there are a few subjects and art that can be found here: http://www.thefane.org/flink4.htm Personally I think it is good to tap into your creativity , imagination, and thought Drawing, painting, making music, writing, problem solving all fair game and enjoyable Grab a few books such as those from artists such as Alex Grey or MC Escher very cool psychedelic art work http://www.mcescher.com/ http://www.alexgrey.com/ And as everyone has already stated get outside do some hiking in the wilderness the world can be a beautiful place depending on your perspective videos games can also be fun as well oh yeah cant forget Larry http://www.larrycarlson.com/ one more thing the milkdrop visualizer for winamp is badass http://www.nullsoft.com/free/milkdrop/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MilkDrop |

Nature... Nothing can surpass the amazement of using the power of mushies in the outdoors. Seeing a beautiful meadow move like an ocean in the wind. Watching a bird fly overhead and feeling like a jet airplane just flew by. Seeing a crystal clear pool of water. Theres just so many amazing experiences ive had while in nature and i feel like im hindered while indoors.

I lie in bed in the dark and seek ego death and transcendence. If smoking weed, the visuals change character and become less metallic and more colorful. Sometimes I travel to crystal rooms and other planes of pure white light. Music or television simply distract me from this. The times I've been social or done other things, it makes me feel like I'm missing out on something, but at the same time, you can't go rocketing through space/time every damn time you trip. I've experienced intense laughter one trip, and intense sensuality another. An extremely erotic trip occurred another time. Sometimes I get color enhancement and feel like the walls and fixtures have personalities and spirits that want to communicate with me. One time I sat outside at night with a full moon and knew the clouds had intelligence and wisdom, and I felt like I was up in the silent void with them only feeling the wind and cold. It's never exactly the same twice. Sometimes it's amazingly wonderful, sometimes it's rough. Amazingly, even after the roughest trips, when I finally wake in the morning, I feel amazingly at peace and energized the rest of the following day, sometimes more. I seek enlightenment and new perspectives, regardless of what I do.

there's a lot of things I do, and one can do while tripping. I would say trying to ride a bike is pretty funny. talking's not bad. hanging out in the dark listening to music, playing with blacklights and hi-lighters, drawing and painting.
