Invitro Ksss Early Pins

My jars are about 75% done and they've got these blobs forming against the glass, one is atleast 1mm with about 4 more around it. Does anyone know if Ksss pins start out as all white?

Hard to photograph since they are just popping up, but they look like little Funkey shaped mushrooms, fat at the base like Ksss so I hope they are pins.

There are a couple little clusters elsewhere. I innoculated them right in the middle and saw no growth forever and when It poked thru it was about 60% of the jar

I wouldn't birth those until they are fully colonized. Just go with invitro for the first flush and then birth them for the second. You'll be inviting contams birthing those jars the way they are now.

Well I innoculated them right in the middle and diddn't see any myc for a long time, I think the upper myc just got mature, they never really had a direct light source.

Yeh Jigalow I really wish I could put it in a FC but so much more to be colonized

I did manage to get a Blue Meanie cake out of the jar and into an FC with only making a few pins abort I think, was a wrestling match getting the cake out of the jar.

we need to invent a lubricant you put on the inside of the glass before adding your brf to make the cake just slip right out.

Hey, thats a good Idea... I wounder if you sprayed PAM or some type
of Veg oil, if it would mess with the Myc growth..
Might have to try it for kicks!

Most cooking Oils smoking point is I think like 300-400 deg so I don't
think the PC would fuck with it, but it all might run to the bottom
of the Jars..

you might could use a can of duster:
just poke the straw thing down the side of the jar to the bottom - then blast some air down there - it should just blast it out. the cake should withstand the blast and the air coming out of the can should be pretty sterile.

never tried it, but it should work; they have cork removers for wine bottles that basically do the same thing, you hook up a CO2 cartridge to this needle like thing - stab it through the cork down into the bottle then pull the trigger. it blasts the cork right out.

With an invitro grow, the jars are always totally full of substrate. It will do fine invitro, the shrooms make space.

He has pins, if he leaves them he is guaranteed fruits. If he births it he may get contams and lose the entire jar.

Yay invitro, try to get them babies some FAE if you can, IME it makes a difference. A blow dryer or small fan will do the trick. Just point it at the bottom of the the cakes with the lid off and try to aim for any cracks that will let the air flow through.

What I did was poured off the dry verm barrier sprayed a shitload of oust then took the lid off and point the fan right at the inside of the jar for about a minute, i'll repeat this throughout the day, I think I got more pins since last night, I have the jar sitting in a window sill getting indirect sunlight.

I've never had my cakes really stick inside the jar. I always wait for a while after fully colonized to birth though..

Third grow, first successful :P What totally made the difference is my tyvek lids I think, my basement is just so saturated with mold spores + my verm filters failed whenever my substrate compacted down + noob mistakes

When I saw the rhizomorphic growth I knew they were gonna work out.
