straw & coir spawned with brf cakes(South American and Texans)

These were found on the internet, said mushes were grown in\on casings made from brf cakes broken up then spawn to poo and coir
3pints coir to 1 pint poo left to incubate for 1 week covered
cased with orchard moss and verm. with lime.

seems like SA loves poo. ive been seeing a lot of BIG SA threads lately. are they thick and solid or just large and hollowed? split one with a buddy and get hammered.

1st flush was huge many clusters. these are from the 2nd flush just 1 mushroom per casing but huge. these are solid as can be not hollow. I haven't weighed them yet but they were as heavy or heavier than the casing from which they were grown

Hmmm...I looked to and could not find anything. Maybe he meant peat moss that had been harvested from an orchard or salvaged/recycled peat moss that had once been used in an orchard?

Hey that tx looks great. I have a syringe of it but haven't tried it yet. Looks sweet. Great pin set and pic's. how many brf jars were used ? and what size is that pan?

I think I am going to increase my number of jars used per lasagna tray this season. I had been using like 4 1/2 pint size jars and not getting the pin set desired.

I'm assuming you broke up the cakes to make an even layer? I've seen some people put the whole cakes in there on their side.

The cakes were crumbled to very small bits, then mixed with the substrate. (shredded straw & coir)

no sprinkling or patching, foaf uses the "plowing" method. Once the casing layer is applied, he uses a spoon to "plow" the casing layer just like one would plow a field. When he's done there's rows of what looks like mountains and valleys. Then he very, very lightly runs the round part of the spoon over the casing layer to knock the tops of the 'mountains' into the 'valleys'. hmmmm, thats pretty cool. I'v never thought about doing that but it makes perfect sense.

not the substrate, the casing layer. the end of the spoon is pressed into the casing layer and moved across it to make parallel lines. not sure how else to describe it. i'll try to get pics.

foaf got home from work to find this. Some pics were taken during harvest so you can see how dense they were in the middle. Fruits were nice 'n solid. First 3 pics are one tray, next 5 pics are another tray.
