I guess the person who posts the video can opt to have embed disabled. Thats pretty strange I thought the point of posting something on youtube was to have as many people as possible watching it.

1) click insert link

You almost had it ...

Just remove the * asterisks , and add the square bracket ] after /youtube to close it. You don't need anything after the ] , "v=HkmltBJwcm4]" was not needed at the end.

Then you'd have:

[youtube*]8s_fpRUqpuE[/youtube*]

Now just remove the * asterisks.
