I didn't realize how much hemp plants look like marijana plants.
Here's some screenshots of hemp plants (screenshots taken from the video):









after watching more, looks like they are talkin bout marijuana, just callin it hemp & hemp oil.... anybody else got thoughts here?

My favorite quote of all time regarding hemp came from an ex-cop working to get industrial hemp legal, he said :

The ONLY thing hemp and marijuna have in common ...... Is that they are the same plant

There is no division, hemp is cannabis =dope = rope = marijuana. Same plant species.

There's arguments whether there is sub-family divisions of sativa, indica, ruderalis etc but even that is contentious. Rest assured hemp is marijuana bred for low THC. Some hemp like chinese hemp used a lot in Kentucky back in the day was high THC compared to todays allowed varities.

Here's a saying to remember :

Rope to dope in 3 generations

This means with proper selective breeding you can raise a feral / industrial low THC plant to a smokable high THC plant in 3 generations.

guess that depends on your definition of pot/weed/marijuana.. you could define it as a cannabis plant high in thc content, which hemp, low in thc would not fall under this definition.

Hemp is an offshoot of the Danish and Norwegian hamp, the german hanf , the english henep etc ... all words for Cannabis.

It used to botanically linked to first nettles, then mullberry, now it is generally though to belong to its own distinct family , Cannabis from which all marijuana/hemp/feral/high THC/low THC come from.

it seems like by using 'hemp' and 'hemp oil' in the vid, they are trying to distance the medicine from the recreational 'drug' we all know and love, as 'marijuana' has gotten a bad rap these past seventy or so years. 'Marijuana' began as a mexican slang word for cannabis, and the newspapers of the late 20s and early 30s adopted it in order to play on american's racist attitudes. When marijuana was outlawed by congress in 1937, the American Medical Association learned only days before the hearing that 'marijuana' was the same as cannabis, which american doctors had been prescribing for nearly a century. The AMA doctor protested the new law, but his testimony was ignored. This was really an incredibly clever move on the part of the propagandists; had they printed up a bunch of salacious articles about the murderous, ravishing effects of cannabis, doctors who had intimate experience with the drug would surely have interjected a note of reason. Since nobody had ever heard of 'marijuana', they were free to invent any effects they wanted, and everyone believed it. After all, it was in the newspaper; it's got to be true

as for hemp being fundamentally the same as the fun-filled cannabis, i think it's fundamentally true. There's no reason (except for the legal one) that I couldn't take my sweet sativa out of the growroom and into the field and produce an amazing fiber or seed crop. I'd just need to plant them really close together and let them grow tall. And as hyphaenation said, the reverse is true. If I take some rope-weed inside and give it some TLC, it's bound to give me some THC within a year or two. Such a versatile plant. Truly a gift to mankind.

What i'm saying is hemp is marijuana...

Only a name difference.

Same plant. Same species.

Whether its hemp, hamp, hanf, hennep ... its all a variation of Cannabis.
