so these guys i know are antidrug!
i would always hang out with them.
when i did mushrooms for the first trime i told them of the wonderul trip i had. them i hear the bitching. they talk trash about everything that is not alcohal. they later excluded me from the group for recommending shrooms.
but get this.
they are alchohalics!!
we would drink every day!
i stopped drinking alot. but they still do it almost everyday!
and i know damn well that acohal causes waaaaay more damage than shrooms.. is that fair that theyr like this??
what is harmful about shrooms anyway??
i ask the people at my drug therapy place and all they say is that shrooms change the settings in your mind... thats it??? wtf?! hahaha

People that don't know anything about shrooms..... It takes a lot to get them educated. Most people that know nothing about it have a bad idea in their mind of what it is. You just have to decide if they are really worth trying to educate or not. A lot of people are hard headed stubborn assholes too that will just go with a group consensus. It's a lot easier for 3 out of 4 people all to jump onboard with a thought or something without really using their own mind to think about it. You would be better off trying to talk to an individual than a group.

You are the people with whom you surround yourself, goes the old cliche, but it is very true. Your old friends sound like ignorant frat boys to me, and your therapist sounds like a BS artist. The best thing I can say about shrooms is just don't abuse them.

At my 30 year class reunion I was shocked to find how many has passed... most of us dopers were still around!

One of the jocks drank himself to death (sports career failure)

A lot of the ropers had either converted to HARD CORE dopers and died or were cripples.

The band that played were of course the dopers!

Moral of my post - Enjoy it all my young friends, take it to the edge but don't jump off, and most of all be kind to them all because what goes around comes around!

The only difference is, they knew my propensity to imbibe illegal substances when we started hanging out. I can't smoke right now, but I make it clear that when I can again, I'm gonna. I do not believe in trying to change others so they see our light. You can tell them all the positive aspects, and they will not change their minds. Its cool if you plant the seed in them by bringing up the subject innocently and non personally, but dont bank on them seeing things your way anytime soon. The years and years of negative press and the rarity of the substances led to generations of teachers and students who were improperly educated.

heres a shitty analogy: the anti drug folks believe with as much conviction as we do. if someone told you to drink gasoline youd tell them to fuck off right, cus youd die. you never drank gasoline, but you think you know the outcome......so do they with drugs. you can not blame them, only consider yourself lucky?, enlightened?, brave?, faithful? etc. because you do know the truth.

not only that, but they have been warned their whole lives about people like you THE DOPE PUSHER. they think you have some alterior motives and they do not truly trust you. this too is the result of lumping all drugs in the same class. While they may imbibe in alcohol or take another drug they for some reason deemed okay, they will still dump on the ones they truly fear.

I had a full blown meth addict tell me he would under no circumstances take shrooms, or acid. His reason was he didnt want to end up fucked up for life. I told him yeah, cuz god knows youre fine now.

Best thing to do imho is let it go, and dont let anyone know what you do.

My thought has always been to not hate them for doing what they're doing, because they don't know any better. From an early age, you're taught to follow by the huge majority of the world; thinking for yourself is something that has to change, not continue. It requires a catalyst, something to begin your exploration of "why?".

The people that reject these things hate them not because of what they do, but what they represent. They don't hate that you question, they just hate that you're willing to destroy your mind for the sake of a drug, never mind that the drug isn't actually harmful. It's just what they've been taught, and haven't questioned.

I always feel so bad for those types.

Ironically, I was told once that a shot of gasoline would clear your bowels of parasitic worms. As well as that may have worked for somebody... I still believe with as much conviction as ever that drinking gas is a pretty bad idea...

My 82 year old neighbor told me that when he was young, he'd regularly consumed a tablespoon of kerosene 'for health,' so drinking petroleum products may have been a widespread practice back in the day. Though he was 82 when he told me that, he'd spent the last 48 years with only half a stomach since the other half had to be removed for some reason (I think it was cancer; no idea what could have caused it) and he was told (back then) that he'd probably only live another year. Blackberry wine did him a lot of good apparently, but kerosene not so much.
