South Carolina Man Sentenced to Three Years for Sex with Horse

CONWAY, S.C. — A South Carolina man caught on video having sex with a horse was sentenced Wednesday to three years in prison after pleading guilty for the second time in two years to abusing the creature.
Rodell Vereen was also ordered never to go near the stable where the horse's owner caught him and held him for authorities at shotgun point over the summer. He apologized to the woman and to himself after admitting to buggery at the Horry County courthouse.
"I'm sorry about what I've done. I didn't mean to do it. It's my fault. I'm sorry for what I've done to myself," Vereen said during Wednesday's court hearing.

Having your name and picture in the news for fucking a horse ought to be punishment enough, I would think. Then again, forbidden love burns all the brighter when it transcends the insults and mockery of those who just don't understand. It's a real life Romeo and Juliet-style tragic love story since now they will be kept apart forevermore (well, I guess it's more of a "Rodell and Mr. Ed" story...).

I think the dude has problems. For him to do it again, and I think more likely than not it happened more than twice, I think it's an obsessive thing. Something he fixated on. He just had no restraint. I don't know if they make meds for that. He needs some kind of help though.

The article indicated that he's had some mental health issues but has not been getting proper treatment for them. I would guess it's not necessarily a case of bestiality so much as he is delusionally transfixed with that particular animal. I watched a documentary on bestiality once and some of the rationalizations that people who are into it come up with are a far cry from Mr. Vereen.

There was a horse lover from that documentary who liked to be on the receiving end of the lovin'. There was a message at the end of the doc saying that after filming he died of a perforated bowel.
