So i was wondering if anybody here goes to work drunk or baked? i whent the other day after drinking almost a half a fifth of southern comfort, i wasn't fucked up, just a good buzz. It whent pretty good, didn't have to talk to any supervisor or manager really, and had a great time. Planning on it today too.

Same here, electrician....so I gotta have all my wits about me. I never mix work and pleasure besides simply enjoying what I do. Times are to tough around here to risk losing my job anyway, but hey, if that floats your boat.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I worked in a kitchen for a few years and I wouldn't go to work unless I was drunk or stoned. I also have quite a few bad burn scars as well as half my thumb tip missing. So you probably are making the right decision.

.And as for the fifth, i meant to say almost half a fifth. idk i started like 2hours and a half before work, so it wore off and i drink some more, so idk. but idk maybe i won't drink too much cause i was told i'm getting a review soon, but as long as your buzzed it just helps in my opinion. But a tic tac cleared up the smell on my breath so i felt good. just read my mistake

Sometimes doing construction work I will smoke a bowl depending on the project. Keeping a job is more worth it to me. Drinking at work sucks, at least it does for me. It makes me tired and makes me wanna leave work and go drink more lol.

Personally, I think either you have a serious drinking problem, and/or you lack any work ethics. I have fired two guys for drinking on the job myself. You are being paid to give your employer your time and perform certain duties. You are not getting paid to go in drunk and half ass your duties. As a business owner this makes me irate. I find it hard to believe that you find this to be acceptable conduct in the work place.

Ya, im sorry but isn't everyone different, like psychedelic affects everyone differently? Last time i got drunk at work i did a better job then when i was sober, you know, put more effort in to it, had more enthusiasm, im not talking about drunk drunk, im just talking about a good buzz. Sorry if it put the wrong image but to be honest i do work better with a buzz. And for work ethics maybe this is jsut my opinion but i feel i work a lot harder than the other people who i work with. Sober or drunk i see me putting alot more effort than other people. Sorry about my words but i only get drunk like once a month so i feel negative vibes when people say AA and stuff. I quit smoking like a year and a half ago besides a bowl like once every 2 months. So i feel that getting drunk once in a while is good for your soul, after all isn't this world an illusion? but since you guys feel its bad vibes ill stop.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Same with me. My help knew if the boss [me] had a couple of beers at lunch [they were eager to buy] that we would go back to the job, pick up the tools and call it a day with pay. They were right most of the time.

I use to go to work stoned. I would run my ass off all day long because I thought I was being slow. I would do every thing I could do at the time, then I was waiting on the machine to catch up. (PRINTING PRESS) I would have sweat pouring off me by the end of the day cause I was running circles around everyone else. By the way I wasn't the Operater, I was Second OP. That's why I was running around doing other stuff. Plantman |

I used to work at a wine & beer supply store. We were expected to drink at work. We had the Cornelius keg in the lunchroom fridge for breaks and wine experiments going on in the back room. Customers would come in with their wines or beers and ask our opinion. 'Shiners would bring us samples to taste. When we had winemaking classes in the evenings, people would bring bottles of their own wines and try our kit wines. So, yeah - there was a lot of drinking.

I was GM at Arby's for 3 years and every person I interviewed I asked about weed, if they said yes they were 10x more likely to get the job from me. I think of it like this, Im stoned and sittin in the drive-thru, I dont want some lil mommas boy fixin my food, hook it up with a stoner, they put everything on just how they'd want it, being a pothead myself it makes it alot more tempting to eat at the store that hooks it up rather than skimping on my sandwich. Alcohol on the other hand I DONT LIKE! Pure fuckin poison! "If it dont grow it dont go"(meaning naturally readies itself(pot, shrooms, ect) so im with Ggod on that one. |

I'd say 98% of us kept it within reason and were able to perform our jobs quite well, but... that 2% didn't know their limits(or didn't care) and put us all at risk and have thus killed "happy hour(s)". | |

Maybe 5 or 6 years ago, I worked for my friends parents at their restaurant, mostly making soups and chowders and cutting up and peeling stuff for the next day. They are both heavy drinkers and would start at like 7am, before I even got in at 8. Being around this and having it accepted lead to me drinking when I came in at 8am. I would kill a 12 pack each day by the time I got out at 3-3:30. This went on for about a year until I left that area and moved where I am now. I can honestly say that this started my drinking problem that I'm still battling today. I wish I never drank like that when I worked there..... love, peace, compassion and respect -wishy

Also wondering about school, don't know how old the people are here but i jsut got out of school, and would come drunk and stoned quite often, even when i got drunk i would still get A's. Especially helped in my art class. But only got stoned for art. I remember taking like 5 shots of vodka before school one morning, and throughout the day would keep taking them. Also remember drinking a 40 and a couple beers before school one day, it was some funny shit, i usually would bring in some drinks to drink while class, and beer was a bad idea. I still did it didn't even get caught but beer stinks and i still think it was a bad idea. peace and have fun at work.

i usually work in the construction field and for a while between the ages of 17-19 i was getting drunk non stop literally i was a very motivated person though and worked 8+ hours on a new construction site(blazing sun no shade) and did some other stuff on the side all night i would smash a half gallon of crown with my 2 room mates every night and stayed up till like 4 am......... that shit was ridiculous its probably why i dont drink but a few times a yearnow what i did find over my years of drugging is going to work on some molly=good, going to work on a small amount of pretty much all benzos=good, and going to work high=necessary

Thing about drinking, and smoking too, is that YOU can't smell it on you but to everyone else it's quite obvious when the get close to you. I would avoid doing that stuff unless your self employed working from home, or work at a bar or something.

I work at an Elementary School in the special Ed dept. So I generally try and keep my wits about me. Otherwise I feel I am robbing the children of something... As a teen I blazed through every fucking job I had! Several restaurant jobs were definitely spent in an alcoholic haze as well. Those kids do make me drink more in my off time though!

85% of my job involves driving people from one place to another. Alcohol on the job, as well as any intoxicants, would just not fit in(no, I don't drive a taxi). Had plenty of jobs in the past where I smoked pot on the way to work, at lunch, and on the way home. Even running table saws, plunge routers, orbital and belt sanders, and only had two accidents in four years. Shooting a an two-inch industrial wire staple through your thumb and thumbnail was one of the weirdest sensations... Live and learn! We have to do stupid things to figure out what not to do.

Used to do the wake and bake religeously every morning. Even before I showered, and then hit again on the way in the car. Then at lunch and breaks. Pretty loose work environment. Have drank at work. Should of been fired for that more than once. Always did a good job after smoking. Really don't need to touch anything after drinking. Usually only drank occasionaly at Lunch, never before. And pretty much that would mark the end of the day for me. Seen other people get fired for it. Nowadays i don't like to start smoking, drinking, or anything much else, till i'm off work, showered, and ate supper. Then i get plastered on into the night. But i always make sure i'm on time, and never absent. Going without all day just makes it better, and you can relax.

I've worked in plenty o' bars in town.. Drinking is part of the job. Any alcohol miss-pour would be noted & drank. Not put down the drain as it's supposed to. Needless to say there would always be times throughout the night that we'd (all the staff) "accidently" pour the wrong drink for a customer.. Whoops!!! Down the hatch. I'm now outta the industry & happier cause we were drinking at least 6+ drinks every shift. It became the norm & it grew on us so much basically we would / could not work sober. It was like a piss-up every shift. I drink enough in my personal time!!!

We used to do 3-4+ beer lunches all the time. Just part of the old school manufacturing mentality. Things are changing though and it is becoming less acceptable. A beer or two is still tolerated, but that just makes me tired and and want to go home an hour or so later. Also anytime we work with sales closely.... Heavy drinking is just part of being in sales.. |

Working in a bar where I was paid under the table with tips only, I learned how to extract the remainder of my wages in Grand Marnier and Jack Daniels. This set me up for a few years of alcoholism where I became accustomed to drinking on the job. I would be a hypocrite to desparage other people who drink on the job, but I have to say in my case that my work performance was shitty while I was drinking. I routinely left my jobs early in order to go hide out at a bar for an hour or two. Alcohol and working do not mix, and I agree with other posters who say it's a sign of alcohol dependence. Learn from the mistakes of those of us who have already gone down that road. Check yo'self now before you wreck yourself later. It's a slippery slope.

I never liked drinkin on the job...made time drag and made me sweat just didnt like it that much. I was a server and it was not that big of a deal. i had an aunt that worked there drank all day. I was a strait up pothead for like 10 years and ya smoke all day everyday, i went to jobs stoned for years no big problems. It was funny this one time the boss realized i was stoned or picked up i had a buzz on...he was so pissed so i did my job so perfect that nite makin sure i made no mistakes just kicked ass all nite. He kept askin whats wrong with your eyes ? At the end of the nite he told me how pissed he was. i just wanted to be like dude ive come in here stoned everyday for the last 3 years and you r just noticing. From that day on i used Visine religiously. Now that i havent smoked for a few months a few times i ate ganja food and got ripped, i mean fkn ripped i couldnt imagine trying to maintain at work. but for the everyday pothead it aint no thing.

i've gone through lots of different jobs and some attitude adjustments were necessary, but differnt ones for different situations. This is the first time in my life where i am waiting tables COMPLETLY sober . Not as bad as i thought it would be, at least i'm not showing the dessert tray before they get their salads. Did constuction, lots of pot n pain pills. Telemarketing: i drank a Greatful Dead (long island iced tea with blue curacao n rasberry schnapps) every 3 hours-they cant smell you through the phone. By the way, no amount of tic tacs will cover alcohol. i also worked at an aquarium/reptile shop stoned non-stop, fish are cool when you're high
