looks like a carnival barker to me. i have seen some things that look somewhat credible in this regard, this dude however, does not fit that bill. and, as an aside, a major university in my state has at least 2500 cases and no hospitalizations...

I honestly don't understand the grave concern regarding the swine flu. I had the flu a few weeks ago, and if it was the swine flu it didn't feel any different. And yes, I live in Oklahoma, and I go to a university that has had reported outbreaks of it, so yeah... I honestly don't believe there will be mandatory vaccinations, though. Too much manpower and money spent on a virus that's being hyped up as more than it is.

Loons! Seems anyone with bullets, a bible, and bug up his ass has the inside scoop. I'll be the first one to say that the "main-stream" media doesn't do it's job--they opt for headlines while skimping on content. However.... Does anyone really believe that if this were the case, that not even one CREDIBLE source would have reported it? ....not even ONE? There are just too many silly frightened sheep out there, and just as many who would capitalize on their willful ignorance. .... in my opinion. *grins*

The fear about swine flu isn't that it's more dangerous or more fatal than any other flu, it's that it has the potential to be so. It's that the effects of this particular strain of influenza have not yet been seen in the human population so , and that can make for an extremely bad situation. Example: The Spanish Flu, another of the very common H1N1 strains, killed anywhere from 50-100 million worldwide. Quote:
While this flu may or may not be worse for you or whoever has it, the basis of fear is sound and legitimate. | |

This is one of the most ridiculous statements I have seen in some time. I have had the swine flu, I got it at All Good Music Festival. You saying things like this is quite insensitive and really, just bullshit. Where is your scientific proof that this is fiction, because I have seen quite a few tests that show that H1N1 exists. That being said, swine flu was not very serious for me... I felt like shit for a few days, had horrible cough and a few stomach problems. The problem with swine flu is that it gives people with weaker immune systems pneumonia... One of my professors parents got a secondary pneumonia from swine flu and is now hospitalized. Please think about what you are going to say before you say it, it might save you from looking foolish.

Yeah I am definitely not getting the vaccine, hell I probably have some sort of an immunity to it now... They are definitely running it like crazy in the media though. This is more because of human's fascination with the abomination than anything, bad news sells, good just does not. See Joseph Conrad's book Heart of Darkness for more examples.

As many of you already know I have been hospitalized over the last few weeks. While in there I contracted a very very very strong flu bug. When tested and screened for everything under the sun they had no answers for me as to what it was at the time, but they sure knew how to treat it real fast. 5 days of IV antibiotics. The strongest known to man. I really believe myself that I was given this super bug as a controled test subject. They have a comprehensive and documented case file of my medical past because of the Crohn's disease I already have. This bug is imo a strain of the h1n1 flu. It was the worse thing I have ever had when it comes to the flu. Im not sure I would have lived if I wasnt in the hospital already. Funny thing is nobody that visited me ended up getting the bug. Just a thing to make you go hmmmmmmm. |

the reason h1n1 is dangerous is because its new not necessarily that it is a super lethal strain of flu its newness means no herd immunity exists in humans and so everyone can get it millions of people missing work for 3-4 days to a week plus the increased load on hospitals and emergency rooms is why they want to get ahead of this it could get ridiculous, usually 10% abseentism is a huge cost for an employer they are looking at potentially 30-60% during the winter period in a shaky economy |

Swine flu (h1n1) was identified in 1918! It has been around for 81 years! Just because it mutated (which is what every virus does) does not mean that someone did it themselves. Do you know the variables that effect evolution? Life span is a big one! Where a virus life span until reproduction is so short, it makes it much more likely to mutate in the time frame that we live in. Globalization also makes this more possible because of travel from one region to the next allowing regional viruses to be exposed to new genetic material held by the same virus from another region. So that's a pretty big stretch for even die hard conspiracy theory believing folks.

well, he's saying that because the vaccine has a lot of elaborate/vile sounding stuff that constitutes it. I honestly don't like the idea of a vaccine for anything other than life-threatening illnesses, so I'm not going for it. For those who feel they are in danger of their life, go for it.

right. you want that in you, go for it. dont take some lunatics "advice". and im telling folks not to get "this" shot, not "their shots". obviously, we all need shots of some kind or another sometime. do your own research, make up your own minds.
