How to make a perfect prophecy.

A perfect prophecy is able to be used throughout time and never expires. For this you will need a complete understanding of the past. Select similar major events that have already taken place. Make a document describing in general, the events and what lead up to the events. History repeats it's self.

That could be ascribed to just about every major civilization which has ever existed. Flower it up with some arcane, interpretive language and a few "details" (the bad man will have brown hair) and bam - yer Nostrildamous.

Saw a documentary a few months ago detailing an amazonian tribes prophecy saying that at the end of the world the sky will be crossed with spiders webs. Maybe airplane contrails??? (cant find a link)

Not sure which side of the line I stand with regard to this though. Guaranteed we'll destroy ourselves.

Too many people causing too many problems and not enough love to go round. Dont think there is any real will to make the changes that are needed to save ourselves.

Wont happen in my lifetime in my opinion.

No specific prophecy in mind. Just been reading through a few and noticed on how easily they or parts of them could nicely fit with things that have happened within the past 100 years or so. The tabloids are extremely adept at fitting them in for every president or presidential candidate for that matter. I was thinking with a smoke and a nice glass or five of wine one evening and thought how I could predict to a certain degree, my own future by studying the past. yes oblivion things do repeat itself that is because there is no such thing as time just cycles. I have to say I disagree with studing the past in a way ( I say that because some of the people before our time native americans and some others were truly connected to mother earth they lived in harmony with her and there for there lifes were full). But to have this you need to be in the very moment the very, with nature, not the continouse steam of thoughts that flow.

And to your comment piggy69 about the cobwebs in the sky. I have talked to hopi indians, yaqui indians, and mayans in person about this, as far as the end of the world some of you may be referring to 2012? well this is not the end of the world! the earth is going into a new cycle and it is mother earths chance to cleanse her self (she only gets 1 chance every 26,000 years) every thing from the water, fire, wind, animals, plants ect they all do there job and flow in harmony so they no doubt will live on earth. but um as far as humans go right now

I used to have the thoughts that I want to transend to somewhere els that there is a better place I am only here to learn until that time. true to a since. but after deep disapline of plunging into my self and viewing the world I have come to see for ME atleast that wind, water, fire, earth are the most sacred alive energies there is, most of us just aren't connected very well, (I love the thought of reincarnation for me) take blasting through on dmt or something for an example everything comes alive and seem to be at a much higher frequency, but I promise you earth has better to offer although breaking through can help for assistance lol. Well, that's more of a Law than a prophecy I guess, since it's mathematically quantifiable (up to us 'not getting it' anyway). Then again, prophecies that are reusable over the long term are more like Laws, or maybe Laws are just very accurate cyclical prophecies? From what I've read so far, I'd say that Chaos Theorists, Hopi elders, and drug-addled Subgeniuses are best at it at the moment.

How about:

People will lock themselves up in cages of fear, then complain that they lack freedom even as they throw the key out of reach, desperately hoping someone else will come and retrieve it for them. They will blame their fate on being deceived by an evil man who misled them and whose deceptions led to great suffering and death, and though they have eyes they will fail to see that no man can deceive the multitudes by himself; he can only assist in their self-deception. As one tyrant is toppled, the next has already been carefully sculpted to be the Big Daddy the people desire and will take center stage even as the previous one still swings from the chains in the town square. And thusly shall humanity be trapped in Eternal Adolescence until it can learn to break the cycle of willful ignorance and cast off it's fear of living freely, without a Daddy.

It's sort of a mashup of Chaos Theory, Discordianism, Revelation, a touch of David Byrne, and a generous dose of Eric Hoffer. I love putting the ideas of a bunch of different brilliant lunatics into my mental blender and making a cognitive slurry just to see what fruits might develop, if any. I'm working on making smoothies, but since I've only been at it a couple of decades they're still kinda chunky.
