I went for a walk in the woods and took some pics. artists' conch

There has been quite a bit of rain here this week so the wife and I went out to see if we could find some morels. I didn't have any luck but I took some pics of some other mushrooms I came across and some other shots along the way.

That last one almost looks like a dead reishi to me. I didn't think they grew up here in Canada. I'll be keeping an eye on that spot in the fall.

    Hope you like the pics.

The first one is a Dryads Saddle (Polyporus squamosus) which is an edible. Not a good one though. Tough and tastes like cucumber to most. I like to see others pics of the woods. I hunt pics as much as mushrooms. hahahahaha

The affect of the water beading up on the bottom of the mushroom in the first two pics is pretty neat.

    Nice Pics!

Thanks for sharing those, rev, makes me wanna go out too!

Every once in a great while I'll find a young dryad that is actually soft and tasty.
