a nice big one was reflecting the sun at us

    at home, the whole haul

and many of these were spotted, and i could have sworn in some dream i had seen this mush id'd, but I can no longer find it. any clues?

yeah not it. these had caps that were brown going to grey on the edges, with a very thin greyish to redish stem. no veils seen. spores seemed black or almost-black.
they were seen growing right out of the cow shit and in some cases around it too.

just a followup - all those shrooms were just a hair under 2 oz dry.

that is, minus about 4.5 wet oz of the best specimens that were kept fresh,
and the two with white gills. wasn't 100% sure about them so they got ditched.

can someone remind me the dosage of wet that roughly equivelates to the same amount dry?

10:1 ratio is thrown around a lot, but isn't it just raw numbers of weight and not in the context of dosing?

    90% water
    so 10% dry weight

    so if its 30g wet
    then its around 3g dry
    estimates

    trip report!

Thats normally what i expect too, however ive gotten different results actually, i dry gram normally ads up to about 13-15 wet grams, always. Ive never had the 10:1 ratio ever. Maybe its just me Like that monster GT i had was 86 wet, its now 6.6 dry.

yeah that 10:1 isn't accurate at all.

I just dried a 78g wet fruit to about 5.5g's dry.

Those numbers do depend on the innital moisture content of the mushroom. Under optimal conditions a mushroom will be 90%water. But sometimes shrooms will hold more water. I've seen plenty of grows where the mushrooms were laden with water and the 10:1 ratio does not apply in those circumstances.

i've noticed it's mostly after a good dunk, that the ratio isn't accurate.
