    Smile Wild Cubensis?

A friend was just in Costa Rica. While driving he spotted these mushrooms growing in a cow pie. He jumped the fence and took these pics. He took some spore prints and they look dark purple like other Cubie prints I've seen. Mycelium was white and stringy.
Can anyone confirm that these are the real deal? The only thing I'm wondering about is the stems. The homegrown Cubies I've seen tend to have very light, sometimes white, stems. The mushies in the pics have yellowish, golden stems with little white blotches.

    Thanks,
    Annunaki

Looks like they may be. Take some prints and do some microscopy.
Take them to an expert who can key them out.

Those are cubes. But you should never eat a shroom you cant id your self becasue mistakes can be made when id'ing by a photo and the photos you took are not that good to id by. No offense.

For future reference....When taking a picture for id purposes get a close up of the cap and stalk. A close up of the gills. You should also cut the mushroom lengthwise and get a picture of how the gills attach to the stem. Get a spore print and take a picture of it too. If you pick the mushroom try to get the entire stem and base then take a picture of the base.

My Ecuador grow had golden stems with little white blotches. Perfectly normal. As I understand blue bruising + purple spores = psilocybe mushroom.

He said Costa Rica was amazing. He passed alot of cattle pastures before he spotted these beauties. But when he jumped the fence he found lots that he couldn't see from the road. He was way down in the Southern part of the country, near Pavones. When he found these.
