![]() | A walk in the woods. Here are a few photo's from a recent walk in the wood's.I would like to get IDs if possible so any help would be greatly appreciated.A few pics I'm not sure of if its a mold or a fungus,or if they are eggs of some sort, they look like eggs, but one patch is white and the other is yellow, was finding the stuff everywhere. The fibrous stuff next to the white slime mold in the first few pics, was also very strange looking,as is the glob of golden goo, maybe just tree sap,I'm not sure, but still looked really neat. And then the pic of the log,you can see there was mushrooms all over it but have dried out,but you can also see the network of black mycelium all over the log like veins. As soon as we get some rain I will be going back to this place to see what comes up anew,Its been a good week or so since we've had a nice rainfall,am looking forward to it.

![]() ![]() ![]() | Looks like you had a good time. I hope you find out the answers to your questions. Those do look like eggs to me too. I can't think of any critter that would leave soft, moist, larva/eggs in the open like that.

| YAY! picture of mushrooms in the woods....my favorite! in the 1st set of pictures.....#5 is some sort of hericium beginning to pin. Might be hericium ramosa if its on pine. In the second set youve got 1. ganoderma applanatum 2. old oyster 3. tricholomopsis platyphylla OR pluteus longistriatus 4. unknown coprinus sp. 5. cant tell from just the picture, would need a sporepint 6. ? 7. mycena leaiana 8. " 9.xylaria sp. 10. oysters very nice pictures~ the orange ones cannot be wax caps because theyre growing on wood and wax caps are a terrestrial mushroom. thanks for sharing...were having a drought here ...no real rain in a a month. so im kinda living vicariously through you..... ![]() |

| get a sporeprint.....some crepidotus sp mimic oysters and a lady on the bams board just poisoned herself and hubby and kids by mixing creps in accidentally with her oysters. everyone just powerpuked...noone had to go to the hospital. oysters should have a white, or pale grey sporeprint, most oysters but not all smell of anise <black licorice> and all have a stem..might be really short but its there. creps and lentinellus/lentinus sp. dont . |
