dont know what about the coral fungi. I do know that in your last three pictures you have some sort of Amanita in your pile (See yelowish cap with white fragments on it).

One time I ate a bear toothed comb coral and made myself very sick. Felt like the scull and crossbones. Everything told me that it was edible. I wonder if it had pesticides in it. They spray the forest up here for "noxious weeds" and then you will see signs that say "forest chemical area" whatever the hell that means. Didnt see any signs where I picked it but I wouldnt put it past the NF to be spraying.

Also became very ill from eating a giant puffball and I wonder the same thing I wondered about led poisoning and pesticides. It came from the field side of a big lawn after heavy rain.

I suppose both episodes could have been from over indulgence and not cooking thorough enough. I thought I cooked them well done but that could be wrong.

Anyway, be carefull with amanita species!!! If you havnt allready, Read vollumes from every source you can. About ingesting, about preparation, about deadly varieties ext ext....

    Peace! and thanks for sharing,
    Subbal

Those white mushrooms with the large bottom are Destroying Angels/ Death Caps.

It doesnt look like death cap to me but lets see what else is said here in a little while : )

Notice the yellowish tone to cap and remaining fragments?

Are you positive Mario? Any pics to refference?

It's hard to tell exactly what species it is but it definitely is a poisonous amanita IMO.

Destroying angels are characterized by having a white stalk and gills. The cap can be pure white, or white at the edge and yellowish, pinkish, or tan at the center. It has a partial veil, or ring (Annulus) circling the upper stalk, and the gills are "free," not attached to the stalk.

The damning evidence is as follows...

Perhaps the most telltale of the features is the presence of a volva, or universal veil, so called because it is a membrane that encapsulates the entire mushroom, rather like an egg, when it is very young. This structure breaks as the young mushroom expands, leaving parts that can be found at the base of the stalk as a boot or cuplike structure, and there may be patches of removable material on the cap surface. This combination of features, all found together in the same mushroom, is the hallmark of the family. While other families may have any one or two of these features, none have them all.

    Mario,

Im with you on the universal veil but i have never seen a picture of phalloides with remnants of the universal veil on cap.

The pictures first referenced look to me more like Amanita gemmata/junquillea

However you cant go wrong in assuming its Death cap because then you wont eat it right : )

    Peace,
    Subbal

Ps... I love your... "Damning evidence" Thats awsome

so my guess on the coral would be ramaria too...probably ramaria abietina. Also def some amanitas, all of the big ones i would say, not sure what though. and the cups look like tarzetta or possibly peziza. nice pics, thanks for posting.

A little info i forgot, these were all found in southern ontario (canada) and the amanitas were found under coniferous trees actually, something i wouldnt have expected. The coral fungus was found in a more deciduous area. As for the pesticide concerns, these were all found on my own property so i know that it shouldnt be an issue and as always i wouldnt eat anything i didnt get an id for first.

The two pics on the left are a Ramaria species. Its really hard to get the exact species name on those. If you eat the wrong one you will notice a laxative effect.

The Amanitas look like the destroying angel (Amanita verna) but I am not sure. Might be an edible species.

There is one of these: http://www.mushroomexpert.com/megaco...atyphylla.html

Two specimens of Tylopilus (check if they are bitter)

And something that looks like Gymnopus.

There is a peziza and I am not sure what the one in the third pic at the bottom with white gills is.

A few more for id, some of the same, a few different ones. Would the one in the forth picture be an example of a Tylopilus or are those the ones in the third picture?

In the first pic you have Tylopilus on the left, and an Amanita to the right of it.

Second pic has a Russula on the left and Cantharellus cibarius in the middle.

Third pic is probably a Suillus due to the glandular dots on the stem.

Fourth is the Tylopilus with some Amanita behind it.

    Fifth is your Russula.

Sixth is some type of ascomycete.

    Seventh is Russula.

    Eigth is a chanterelle.

the only one I can see of any interest is the amanita with yellow cap and white warts all over it. White gills and stem.

Be carefull with those...i have personal exp.... they rocked me...

Amanita must be dried or boiled at 200 degrees. It is also helpfull to have several of them to make a consistant batch, then do a sample but eating from one lone ranger mushie can surprise you by not doing anything at all or knocking your socks off. Be BE BE careful!!!!

I found a 50lb patch of those one time. Every mushroom ranged extremely in potency.

The yellow gilled one is Amanita flavoconia
The others look like Amanita muscaria var. formosa
Any without concentric rings around the base are not muscaria.

Use extreme caution with any Aminitas. Not worth severe organ damage or death from misidentification.

Amanita Tea Nite and Finds in the Trail Mulch!

Oh, did I ever see the face of the Goddess last nite, as well as the Face of God- That in being We are all Goddesses and Gods, we just have to tap our potential....Wow...I had never been so angry, so frightened, so full of sorrow and so very full of joy until last nite! I will never forget it and now I know what the Shamans truly saw and communicated with. I went for a very large dose, more so than ever and knew that something big was going to happen...it really did. I will treasure last nite and if you think you can handle it (not alone if you are going where i went ), then by all means do it...if you are ready. It is so very worth it! Blessings!

    alicesamanita,

You from the coast??? Were those some Baeocystis and amanitas that you enjoyed?

Interesting indeed. Would love to know more.

    Peace,
    Subbal

Yes, they were. I apologize for the poor quality pictures, i was having issues...
However, I was quite surprised and submitted these pictures to David Aurora and a few others and yes, even though those particular types do not typically grow, here, those were Baeocystis. Found them on mulch in a park trail on the way to the mini amphetheatre.
I found the amanitas at Prince Gallitzin. There were a few of the typical yellow ones and then these which are just beautiful.
I did find Amanita Muscaria var Muscaria one other time 2 years ago on the Penn State Campus before, but never in such abundance.
I was so touched that every time for the next two days, that I explained about my visions, I cried. I could not help it. I found that we are all Gods and Goddesses, even though I knew that before, I am completely convinced and motivated now!
I will explain my visions more so later when I have a few more moments, but know this, we are all beautiful, special and we are all Gods, we just have to tap into our potential and grow/work with each other!!

Amanita and Psilocybe can be an enlightening concoction...

I share some of your same thoughts by the way. It is beautiful when we truly see our potential inside. Sometimes it is downright deflating too because we realize how naked and inadequate we are.

    Peace!
