Any idea? Thought I had a 'Big Gym'...but not so sure now.

Found growing in my backyard where an old tree was removed.

Temps have been in the high 70's low 80's in the day and 65-70 F at night.

Lots of rain the past two days....but today it dried up. So the mushrooms are a little old looking now.

Could not get a print off them. May be gold(ish)....but it was so light.

It bruises blue/green...as you can see in the last pic.

Any idea?

(Northeast/Midwest USA area)

does that have gills? hard to tell from here, laughing gym has gills, that looks like the sponge type(im not sure of the classification name for sponge shroom) could be poisonous, i say a thread very similar to this recently

No, no gills.

Is more sponge looking.

Edit in: just realized this is probably a Boletus of some sort.

Boletus miniato-olivaceous or Boletus miniato-pallescens, maybe?

I posted this on mushroomobserver and shua said it is probably a Gyrodon, and Darvin said that it could be Gyrodon merulioides based on Bessette, A., W. Roody and A. Bessette. 2000. North American Boletes: A Color Guide to the Fleshy Pored Mushrooms. Syracuse University Press, Syracuse, NY. 396p.

He says it could also be

Meiorganum curtisii, a relative of Paxillus that grows on wood.

Definitely not active.
