    P. subaeruginosa

Some recent subs from Austraila. Photos courtesy of M_Sanchez of New South Wales.

Grows in clusters in wood chips, piles of leaves and woody debris in urban areas and along trails and roads in deciduous forests and gardens. Found in Tasmania and Australia where it is common. Also one of the most common Psilocybe sp. mushrooms found in and around New Zealand.

Nice pictures. Strong little buggers from what I hear. I have a print that I can't wait to play around with.

Yeah, I started a bed last year, hopefully they'll fruit this Fall. Spacecake fruited some subs a while back. Maybe I can find a link.

That indoor grow wasn't a big one,but I'm trying a little outdoor grow this year aswell.
Used a print from that indoor grow of 2005.

Hopefully we both have some nice shrooms popping up this year !
I love seeing some pictures of that...

    Beautiful pics!

I wonder what time of year these would fruit in the US.

I think this is another species that likes the cold, like cyans. Not sure how cold it needs it though.

Soon the US will be covered in so many different Psilocybe species that they almost never stop fruiting.

    P. subaeruginascens likes to fruit in any temp range and is fruiting really well right now just south of portland.

That's exactly what I was thinking. You get a bunch of people together and start growing outside and all of a sudden you have a species that is indigenous to Australia become indigenous to the US. I have read that this species does best right before snow.

It's a great species. Very potent indeed. It's season for them now where I am but it's too dry for much to grow.
