    Some things from the yard

Not sure what either of these are but I have a good idea about one of them. Been kind of dry here lately, so not a whole lot, but a walk through the yard today says otherwise.

The first one, looks like two mushrooms grew into one cap..I've seen this happen to quite a few mushrooms in this area, maybe it's more common than I realize. This would be the mushroom I have no idea what it is.

The other mushroom however I have a feeling is "Strobilomyces floccopus" which is the "Old man of the woods", if not that, my next guess would be, "Strobilomyces Confusus", which could be way off as well. Anyways, I am by no means an expert on the subject, but perhaps someone here could help me out on this one?

Was #1 found in the grass?

Due to the reticulate stem I don't think its one of the Strobilomyces species you mentioned. The cap does make it look like Strobilomyces Confusus though.

The first one was found in the grass, yes, the other, right next to a decaying log.

... I can see where the confusion could come in.

Not that it's too important, but any idea of what either of them are? ...and yes I'd say I'm definitely confused myself.

The first one could be Marasmius oreades.

What is the spore print color on the second one? Any bitter flavor? Which state was it found in? It might be in Boletus or Tylopilus (if the print is olive brown its in Boletus, pink its in Tylopilus). Some pics of an older specimen would help.

Hey thanks for the ID! That first mushroom and a couple others a few feet away from it are all I've found so far. As for the second one, no, most certainly did not taste it, although from the amount of boletes in this area ( Ohio ) I would not be suprised... I believe you helped me ID a previous bolete from my yard if I remember correctly. That was about the largest specimen I could find, and I remember when I dug it up, the base, and what I would assume to be some still growing mycelium seemed to bruise a little bit red, then to a blackish after it had dried a little...and I'm sorry to say, I did NOT get a spore print. I will look around some more in the next few days as we're expecting some rain this way. Once again, thanks for you help.
