kaylion Mycophiliac Join Date: Aug 2008 Posts: 2	are theses p. subbalteatus? I think I found panaeolus subbalteatus growing in my yard. I live in pa. I was wondering if there are any look a likes that are dangerous. I don't have pictures but I can take some tomorrow. Heres my description cap: no smaller then 1.5 cm and no longer then 4.5 cm surface smooth reddish tan with darker center lightest at the edge gills: darker brown then the cap. almost black on larger mushrooms. close together white vale on small ones. spores: jet black stipe: 3-6.5 cm long 3-7 mm thick hollow with short white fibbers going down the stipe white to red brown. darker towards the base oder: mushroomy They were growing in clusters and also scatters across the yard. There are a lot of them.
