![]() | Help With Mushroom ID These were growing in the grass in front of my building. The building faces North, so this area gets some, but not a lot of direct sunlight. These started growing this year, after I brought several loads of compost from the Livestock Barn to fix the grass in this area. This picture was taken July 1st, and the location is PA. I cropped in tighter for a better view. The spore print was very dark, but I don't have any pictures of it. Thanks for your help! |

![]() | looks to be some sort of Pann. species, not sure which, that spore print will help you out a lot though....nice finds, way to fertilize the lawn too. ![]()

![]() | The spore print color will not help separate out the different Panaeolus species because all members of the genus Panaeolus have a jet black print. The habitat and macroscopic features are enough to make the ID because not many Panaeolus species grow on lawns and not many Panaeolus species have a cap that expands to nearly plane. Another feature of subbalteatus is the little indentation in the cap (its not quite round).[/quote] huh? Very nice to know, i always print my finds though, just to see. Good to know though.....thanks.
