    Psilocybes in Haiti?

We're planning on visiting Haiti next Summer. I know it's not a particularly popular place to visit, but I have my reasoning, however I'd like to know if any Psilocybe species have been formally acknowledged from that country. The climate should be amicable to cubensis but I am unaware of any such strains being found there. I plan on a detour for mushroom hunting during part of our stay, never too soon to set an itinerary!

So far no known collections of psilocybian fungi form Haiti have been deposited aat local University or college herbariums from haiti.

Being in the Caribbean, it is possible that either Copelandia cyanesncens or Psilocybe cubensis would be on the Island. However, it could be one or the other or possibly both species.

Not all areas or l islandes will have both at the same place.

And as in Puerto Rico and other islands there, sometimes other Psilocybe species have been found, reported and documented through herbarium deposits.

Look in cow paddies in paddocks. and open areas. BE Careful of armed guerillas looking for tourists to rob or shoot. or kidnap.

They do not like strangers trespassing on their lands.
