  | Psilocybe semilanceata.
I went out to the field for the first time this year in search of Psilocybe Semilanceata.The season is off to a slow start here but the weather is now perfect.Woke up this morning to a nice frost,no wind,and a calm ocean, a perfect day.Managed to find a little over a hundred,didnt get many pictures because the batteries died in my camera,but I have plans to go back in the morning so hopefully more pics to come.

| Psilocybe semilanceata.
So I went back out this morning,same spot,another perfect morning.I managed to find quite a bit more today than I did yesterday,there were more clusters and in larger numbers,10,15,and a monster patch of almost 40,I came out today with 240.And was very surprised when I found two monsters,"larger than a Canadian Toonie",which stained very blue,in with a very nice patch.I took a few more pics today,I had fresh batteries,but did not bring my dslr,instead a point n shoot,still not bad pics.Some out door pics and a few showing the different sizes,shapes and colours that you can find.I love the blueing.......

Thats a big ass pumpkin. Cool pics, how they treatin ya? Whats your typical liberty dose? I've been dreamin about these shrooms for two nights in a row. Gonna have to settle for some cubies.......nice pics.

Well seedless,I havnt really gotten into them yet,I had only eaten a .4 of a gram once they had dried and had a very plesant buzz for 3-4 hours.It also helps that I dont weigh a whole lot so it takes me a lot less then most people.Will be eating a few grams this friday as it is Halloween,more than likely 2-3.5g's.Usually eat 3.5g's when eating cubies,since these are quite a bit stronger than cubensis you can eat a bit less.Personally 2-3.5 for Psilocybe semilanceata.

I went back to the field today,we had lots of rain last week but not very much sun,its been nice and cold.Found 105 today,they were very scattered,and not in large clumps,one here,two there,5 here,and on patch with more than 10,but still a nice day.They were larger today though,got 10 really nice size ones for prints.The spot is not very large and there is only a few cows that graze the fields.But it is a very relaxing place,surrounded by trees on 3 sides and the atlantic ocean on the coast.Got a few more pics today,Still have not brought out my DSLR,its just too big and bulky when picking.Pics are still fairly descent though.

Just a few pics of some caps after I took prints,was bored....But shows the size compaired to a match box,these were fairly large caps and gave really nice dark prints.

Well,I went back to the field yesterday with two friends,we found almost 300 together.We decided to throw them all into a pot and make one cup of tea each.Instead of using tea we used a hazlenut coffee,it will definatly be the way I drink it from now on.Best tasting mushroom tea/coffee ever.We started at three in the afternoon,we boiled the water,added the semis,and let simmer for 15 mins or so.We never even got through our cups and we could allready feel the effects starting to take over,within 15 mins we were complety in the controll of the mushroom,To date this was the most intense experiance I have ever had with semilanceata.The body buzz was so intence,I could feel electricty radiating from my body,every inch of me was buzzing with energy,my skin at times felt like it was plastic,the walls,the floor,everything was breathing very heavily,colours were greatly enhanced and at times completely mixed up and blended,Could not focus on one thing without a hundred others trying to compete for my attention.The whole time I was seeing the most amazing streaks of light that seem to have been coming from nowhere,since all the lights were off I cant really say where they were coming from but I can compare it to rays of sunshine poking through the clouds bouncing off the ocean,in this case from the ceiling behind me.And when it was all over,there was no gradual comedown,it just kinda stopped,no pain,felt great,and was in bed by 11 sleeping very comfortably.woke up feeling completly new.What an experiance....Can't wait untill the next trip to the field.

Thank you shremage.Yea I love the spot,being there first thing in the morning watching the sun rise over the ocean,and the field full of mushrooms,sure makes for a great day.

I decided to go out to the field today,even though the weather has not been the greatest for them,,,been too hot,hit 18 the other day.We did manage to get some rain yesterday and today and it did drop down to about 12.Still not too great,should be better this weekend.I did manage to find 92 today,very scattered,lots of groupings of 3,3 was the theme today I guess lol.Brought my camera and snapped a few pics as well.Here are the pics from today.

No I havn't tried growing them yet krinec,I plan to do a few things with them over the winter,I am planning to attempt an indoor and an outdoor grow.I just recently moved back to this area,so its the first time in 10 years I have had a chance to pick these.Now that I have prints I will try a few things with them.And yes I hear they are very hard to grow,next to impossible almost.But i'm gunna give my ideas a shot.

Well since I had the day off and the temps had dropped considerably,I went out to the field this morning.Had a pretty good day,saw lots of rabbits,they are starting to change colour now,saw a family of foxes,and found 163 mushrooms.Took lots of pics today.Here are the pics from today.

Thank's for the reply's everyone.krinec to answer your question there are animals,Cows and rabbits.It is a cow field but not the typicle kind,this is a wooded field with lots of shrubs and bushes,tall grasses,trees and very hilly.It has parts that do have short trimmed grass but not alot.It is a very natural field,unlike most cow pastures that are just grass and usually kept trimmed by the the cows.There are only a few cattle that roam these fields and the surrounding woods and alot of rabbits,If I find rabbit droppings I usually find semi's right next to them.It's not the easiest place to search but it sure is one of my favorite spots.

Yup,,,Eastern Canada,,,Well Subbalteatus the season got off to a slow start,around the middle of october we got our first frost.I dont even bother going out untill after a good frost.The temps from then till now have varied quite a bit,from -1 in the morning to +18 one day.But its been consistantly cool,it been raining,lots of humidity,A few frosts.A mix of sun and cloud.So far it has been a pretty good cycle of weather,but I am afraid winter is fast approaching.Will be out in the field every moment of free time I have from now until the snow falls.And to answer you other question yes,they are very common here.Psilocybe semilanceata can be found all throughout the Maritime provences,Also it is not usually mentioned but it also does grow as far as Ontario,Although this is very rare and only near the great lakes.With that being said,I would say it is so rare that its not worth looking for there.

So the weekend is here,Free time to go to the field and mushroom hunt.I got into the field a little after 6this morning,the sun was just comming up over the ocean.We had a nice frost last week and the two following days had lows of two and three.I was in the field before the rain hit today,but the funny thing is..is that I was there for an hour plus before the rain hit and had only found around 6-8 mushrooms,was kind of discouraged,,,then the rain hit,,,and all of a sudden I started finding them,196 in total today.It was a little hard to take pictures today with the wind the rain and the spray from the ocean,but I managed to get quite a few regardless.

do semilanceata normally flatten out like that? i thought they were only from bell to conical? edit: forgot to mention... GREAT PICS!
