Since October 3rd I have been findig patches of cyans and some blue ringers every three to four days. I photograph them, leave them to come back and rephotograph them and abot 2/3rds are destroyed by greedy pickers who ripp them form the ground. I just recently posted a thread showing mycelial damge by pickers who spoil and kill a good patch. Its callt how to ruin a patch of cyans or something similar right here inthis forum under the name of mjshroomer/ IT is very hard to grow cyans form spores. You can make teransplants, that incolces digging up some shovels full of woodchips and mycelium and then respreading it into a new environ, ment other then wher eyou found it. Alder is cheap at landscapping supply firms, about $20.00 for a pickup truck load of about one ton. We have Sawdust Supply here in Seattle on Spokane street form Pioneer Square in the direction of West Seattle. They have been a major spreader of cyans in the PNW Puget SOund region for almost forty years now. Buit I will wan you that people who have tried to transplant cyans usually get a ratio of one to three out of ten transplants going and the usually only come back for one year and then do not return. On the other hand, P azues grow in Hammond-Astoria reagion along the northern coast of Oregon and those transplant anywhere and genrall lasst for two to three years and then disappear. Usually they are the best shroom to transplant without using spores to strt growing them. Again, like liberty cap spores, P. cyans are also very, very hard to get tot he fruiting stage. mjshroomer

Well my bro and I searched around the U district (our old stompin grounds) and found a nice little patch of cyans. This is the first time ever finding these guys before. What a amazing little specimen these guys are. We did the spore check just to make sure(purple) even though the stems and caps had definate blueing. Got the scissors and snipped away. I left a few of the little guys just a little bigger that a pin. These cyans were no larger than a silver dollar to dime size any thing under I left. We hit a few other parks and seen a whole lot of people looking for them. But no more luck. My wife and I took two small caps and stems and a medium size one with stem each. These things are very potent for size. The effects were spectacular, vivid colors, total control the whole time, breating walls, intense sensations of everything around us. I will have some pics up soon of the patch and other shroomery. I just wanted to thank mj of coarse for his great pictures and expert advice. Please mj feel free to send me a PM so I can let you kow where we hit paydirt. |

In the 1980s there were blue ringers on the lawns of Gaswork parks. About 5 years ago, cyans were found for two years at Gasworks and then they changed the mulch. Lake union is a good size lake to walk around since you have four separate areas Eastlake, Westlake, the run form Fairview to Westlake formthe east side and then the aroproa bridge division to the IO-5 bridge near the U district. That is many days of looking. chances are you might find something. even if workers are there, taake a look and come back later. Buit onoy if something is growing that interetss you. Picking aorund construction workers and such is not cool because they usually have police directing trafic in such areas. good luck. mjshroomer

Thanks for the heads up but it would be a waste of bus fare for me to go off to that side of town. Have a shroomy day and good luck in Vancouver. If you get to Portland check out thepatches I noted. ALso in EWugen yo can go to Skiners Butte Park or to Hendricks Park, Cyans and Baeos are very common there every fall.
