Specific field guide suggestion for New England

From New England, and Ive done a good amount of online reading, about the subject but its not the same. Im looking for a few suggestions for good books for my area...

A good online "encyclopedia" for my area would be excellent, but Im specifically looking for a book... Would prefer any suggestions from anyone local, maybe something you like to use yourself, or have in the past.

Thanks again.

Go to amazon.com and type in the words, mushroom Field Identification Guides and it brings up hundreds of titles. The good guides run as hi as up to over $200.00 per book. Joseph Amirrati has several out on both Northeastern and Southeastern. Gary Lincoff edited both the Audobon field guide and the Simon and Schultster guide. The former allowed Lincoff to add the magic shrooms and Simon and Schulster would not allow them in their guide, There are field guides tot he Northeast by the later Dr. Alexander H. Smith, Alan Bassett and his wife, Field guides bu Orton, and many more, Rolf Singer who classified most shrooms in his book, The Agaicales.

ITs that simple.

Yeah like MJ said Mushrooms of Northeastern North America By Alan and Arleen Bessette and David W Fischer is one I use a lot, really nice book, great photos, and lots of quality info. Somewhere around 40$ new.
