Anyone have a rough estimate for the number of people hunting actives? I'm slowly beginning to realize how naive I've been about the hunting population out there. Every time I find a patch at a local park it's not long before someone takes everything. I often leave patches that are too young, but it seems that every time I do there's someone who will come along and pick all of em. One of the parks was rather small and I thought there was no way someone else was going to bother visiting that site, but sure enough someone found the small specimens there. All of this has lead me to think there must be many, many people searching for actives. |

Based on my limited experience the competition is too fierce to find anything of much significance at the local parks here in the PNW. At parks I find pins and smaller specimens, but the only large haul I've found was on the side of a road...under a bush. |
