The SEM's are cool, but the high vacuum appears to be causing the spores and cystidia to collapse. The best solution to these issues is to use an esem. But if they don't have one of those you may be able to treat them chemically with a hardening agent so they don't collapse before you can photograph them. |

Allen, out of about 15 species that Prakitsin and I made sem's of we had three or four with collaped spores. I also have p. mexicana, P. semilanceata, P. pegleriana, P, samuiensis, P. antioquensis, P. cyanescens, P. cubensis and Copelandia cyanescens to name a few. The copes are from Bangkok and Malaysia and the cube is from Malaysia. And of course some P. cyanofiscosa. I have a few boletus and other species, and a flea and a worm (stomach) have a shroomy day, mjshroomer | |

yeah i've heard the University trails can be quite abundant with fungus....It would be cool to meet you sometime and exchange some good seattle spots! I don't really know anyone in the 206 who is as knowledged in the mushroom field as you seem.

likewise! I never really post on here anymore because my old account got banned for being underage... Given that I had been at the time. I've been getting really annoyed with all the people that "rape" mushroom patches around here. But it'd be so cool to meet someone like you with such a vast knowledge and such extensive experience in this field! It seems like there is a huge increase of kids lately that are learning of local patches and just picking everything on spot, even the pins! Nothing is maturing out here in bellevue. Well it's mostly the patches close to my house that I can just walk right over too, but it is so frustrating! Great pictures though man! Keep posting, Keep on being such a cool dude, I envy your study. I've been hunting fields for hours and hours on end trying to learn about Ps. Semilanceata with no hope. It'd be cool if you had any advice to give relevant to the greater seattle area. Last edited by emoocrap123456; 11-12-09 at 01:08.
